What do you think about the New Roseanne TV show?

Will you watch it?

I didn’t watch it, I’m not a Roseanne fan.

I only watched the first few seasons when it was on. I don’t watch much tv anyway.

Not a fan, so won’t watch, though I do like John Goodman. Even though I don’t like it, at least it’s a clean show, with a faithful husband and wife, who love each other and try to be good parents. And maybe grandparents on the new show. So, glad they are bringing that back rather than some disgusting thing filled with sexual innuendo and marital disrespect.

I never had anything to do with Rosanne after she had an episode on her previous show where they were waiting back for the test results from prenatal testing. She and Dan had decided to have an abortion if there was anything wrong with the baby.

The entire episode was a pro-abortion propaganda. All the likeeable characters supported abortion.
The only character who opposed abortion was the mean hateful mother–and her reason was because girls who have premarital sex should be publicly shamed and not get away with it.

No more Rosanne for me, ever

I saw that episode as a rerun.

The worse part was when she instructing DJ that he in the future should have no say if a woman he got pregnant wanted an abortion.

Not a fan of Rosanne.

I watched WWE Smackdown Live instead to prepare for WrestleMania 34.

That’s what I watched, too! Can’t wait for WrestleMania!

AJ or Shinsuke?
Charlotte or Asuka?
The Authority or Angle and Rousey?
Lesner or Reigns?

How long are they going to push Reigns without giving him a championship again? He’s developed better mic skills, so I think this is his year. Lesner’s had the belt long enough, and he doesn’t fight much.

No matter what, should be a good one.

Generally, Dan and Roseanne are pretty conservative and loving. If you wouldn’t watch a show because of that, I guess you wouldn’t watch “Friends” (lots of pre-marital sex on that one) or “Will and Grace” (sex, sex, and more sex, plus the men are gay) and a host of other shows. Even the news has gotten to be X-rated. TV and movies are pretty focused on unmarried sex these days. I don’t like it, either, but it’s part of our culture. Sadly.

I honestly thought Dan and Roseanne decided, in the end, to have the baby no matter what, but maybe I missed something. The only time I’ve ever watched the show, I was working on the computer as well.

I just watched the new series tonight.Actually other than checking out all the characters ,to see how thay have aged,I found it to be too much arguing and didn’t find it really funny at all. Maybe I am just older now and don’t find that kind of interaction entertaining anymore.

Never got over her singing the National Anthem in San Diego…classless woman…but the President seems to like her…go figure (birds of a feather, I guess).

Yeah but it’s not like the good old days of real talented pro wrestlers but still got Daniel Bryan to make up for it.

I seem to recall the baby being born. But that may’ve been the season that Roseanne (last episode) wrote her book as a way of coping with Dan’s death. So it would’ve been a dream or fiction since Dan is very much alive in this series and there’s no 4th child for the Conners.

They had a boy named Ben if I remember. He was born before the whole winning the lottery thing, so he’s older than Darlene’s daughter.

Is she on the show?

No, you bring up some pretty good points.
I don’t dismiss a show or an actor because of some moral iffiness here and there, mostly.

But that episode was just so continuously ugly, so many obnoxious and untruthful pot shots at prolifers, not one single pro life point of view, that it crossed my personal “moral event horizon”, and I was done with Rosanne and all her works forever.

I mean, if that’s what she really thinks about people like me, she doesn’t need my support.
And she won’t get it.

I didn’t even know Dan died in the show! Goodness! I hate it when that happens on a comedy show! I haven’t been paying much attention to it when the reruns are on. Less that I even thought. I’m sure, though, they had a baby in the first series. Now I want the show to come back so Dan can be alive!

It must be a dream as you said, Lily, because in the ads for the new show, Roseanne is rolling over in bed, looks at Dan, and says, “You’re alive!” or something similar.

Thank you for the information, Lily.

The Conners won the lottery? That would take away part of the show’s charm and its relatability to middle America, its largest audience.

It is so different that even the WWE doesn’t call its in-ring actors “wrestlers” but “sports entertainers.” Of course it’s easy to see the whole thing is choreographed, but I still give the wrestlers credit for their athleticism and dedication to physical fitness, and good for the WWE for imposing a strict “no steroids” policy. And, it is entertaining.
