In other news,
Francisco Franco is still dead.

Article from Fr. Dwight Longenecker;
I was amazed to read that Pope Francis’ supporters, Fr Spadaro and Cardinal Napier have been comparing the Pope’s silence on the Vigano accusations to Our Lord’s silence before Pilate. There are so many problems with this that it is hard to know where to start.

First of all, when you or the person you support is under fire for something of which that person may be guilty it is not a good idea to play the victim….not even a little bit. But to compare the person under fire to Jesus at his trial? No. Just don’t go there.
Ten Reasons Why Pope Francis’ Silence is A Disaster.

That was an excellence piece written by
Fr. Dwight Longnecker.

No, I was referring to the condition of being dead.
Oh, OK. My mistake. I thought you were referring to some scandals.
But with reference to raising from the dead, I read that in the Old Testament Elijah raised the son of the Zarephath widow from the dead ([1 Kings 17:17-22]) and that
Elisha raised the son of the Shunammite woman from the dead ([2 Kings 4:32-35])?
Of course in both cases, they prayed to and invoked the Lord for help. So it was only through the help of the Lord that they were able to do that.

I think Chevy Chase finally ran that old generalissimo into the ground, for good.

The accusation is against the Pope himself, i.e. an allegation that he was responsible for the cover-up.
I read the accusation as being one wheref the Pope knew of +McCarricks inappropriate actions and yet put him in a position where he had access to similar victims ( children or seminarians), not that he ‘covered up’ +McCarricks misdeeds.

A cover up would be a withholding of any information that would impact an investigation into that accusation. That has not happened yet. My hope is that the Pope makes all information as to the veracity of +Vigano’s accusations.

Just as the Pope would ask of any other bishop if accusations of clerical misconduct were made.
