The why haven’t the US bishops been more on the ball with taking care of this when it seems it was so well known in the upper circles? Were they just sitting on their hands while those among their ranks were engaged in this sick behavior? It’s easy to demand an investigation now, after the fact. Where were they then? I get they may not have had the ability to sanction other bishops, but they could have stepped up for the victims and the Church and said something. So their demand for an investigation, imho, is really nothing more than CYA.Obviously the US Bishops believed that the laity, in this instance has some right to know what is being done, because they released their request for an investigation to the public.
How do you know nothing is happening? Why do you feel you need to know the result instantly? Do you not have faith the Church will do the right thing? Do you not trust the Pope? Or is your faith placed in the secular media and enemies of the Church who would love to use this scandal to attempt to bring her down?
Now more than ever faithful, loyal Catholics need to stand by the Church and be silent and patient.
