In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit

Speaking in the Temple, the Lord Jesus Christ turning to the high priests, scribes, and elders of the people told them this parable.

There was a Landowner, Who planted a vineyard, set a hedge around it, and dug a wine press in it, built a tower, and let it out to tenants, and went into another country.

When the season of fruit drew near, He sent his servants to the tenants to get His fruit; and the tenants took His servants and beat one, killed the other, and stoned another. Again, He sent other servants, more than the first, and they did the same.

Afterward, **He sent His only Son to them **saying, “They will respect my Son.”
this passage shows the difference between Lord Jesus and other prophets. All other prophets were given the tite of “servants” to the Landowner, but Jesus was sent as His Unique Son, the Heir, the last who will take care of His Father’s belonging.

We are assuming what Jews could have understood from Jesus words, but it is obvious to all that when a Jew says " I am the Alpha and Omega", he is either blaspheming or claiming to be God since Jews know pretty well that these are God’s words. When a Jew promises to give “wisdome” to people, he is is eiher blaspheming or claiming to be God since it is something only God can give…thses are not sentences a prophet can utter without blasheming so Jesus was either a blasphemous Jew (as the talmud records) or He is who He said He is.

Thou He was in the form of God, Jesus did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, He emptied Himself and took the condition of a slave and being as all men are, He submitted humbly upto death, even death on a cross. But God raised Him high and gave Him the Name which is above all other names, that at the Name of Jesus every knee SHALL bow and very tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Phil 2:6-11

Off the top of my head, or something like that:)

He is the image of the invisible God, Col 1:15
Is there anything easier than the sentence “he was crucified and was risen”? yet some gnostics and their followers interpret Jesus’ crucifixion in terms of “appearance”, “image”, “likeness” and what have you of gnostic words. They can apply their gnosticism here as well.

Jews know pretty well that the one who sends prophets, gives peace, gives wisdom, give strenghth, the one who is with all the believers, any time, at the same time, is God and when Jesus attributes to Himself all this it means He was either a blasphemer or He is who He claimed to be, The conqueror of this world, the alpha and omega

I would go further to suggest that ‘image’ is greater than ‘likeness’ since somthing can be like something else but not quite the same [different degrees of likeness] but an ‘image’ is an identical copy of the original, it is not merely like the original, it is an exact copy.

My image in the mirror is me. 'Christ [the Son of God] St Paul tells us is not like God but ‘is the very image of God’, therefore HE can be nothing but God else He is not an image. 🙂

What does it mean to be “the Son of God?”

“My father has not ceased work and I am working too, this made the Jews angry because He was claiming equality with God” Jn 5:18

" To deny honour to the Son is to deny it to the Father Jn 5: 23

and again: " the Father does not judge anyone but has given full jurisdiction to the Son" Jn 5:22

In other words, the Son is of the Father, the two are of the SAME substance. So both are God
But Jesus (pbuh) said, Father is greater than him. Why? How can one God be greater than the other God?

Jesus (pbuh) never said ‘I am alpha and Omega’ while he was alive.

Paul’s understandings. Jesus (pbuh) never said things like that.

Jesus (pbuh) was unable to do anything his own.

Adam (pbuh) too was the image of God.

you mean while He was on earth 🙂 because He said it after as He promised to send us teachers and prophets who will teach what He tells them.

Do you accept the writings of Ellen G. White, the adventist prophet?

Adam was in the image of God, not the image of God. We are all in the image of God.
Anyway, how possibly the image can be the original? The original was greater than the image. The greater original was supposed to have equally greater image. right?

sure because He and the Father and the Holy Spirit are one 🙂

So Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For **WHATEVER **the Father does, THAT THE SON DOES LIKEWISE. John 5:19

am not sure i understood your question. The image is equal and not equal to the original at the same time. Jesus is both equal and not equal to the father at the same time.

Example: if the Quran is the word of Allah, is it equal to Allah or “lesser” than Allah? the answer is both. It is equal in being uncreated and eternal and divine but not equal in position because the word proceeds from Allah. Please open new threads…too much digression.

“I ascend unto MY FATHER, and YOUR FATHER; and to MY GOD, and YOUR GOD” -John 20:17

Can God be God of another God?

“Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God” -Mark 10:18

How can Jesus (pbuh) be God and not Good?

but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things” -John 8:28

Can God be a teacher of another God?

“…O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt”. –Matthew 26:39

How can the will one God be different than the will of another God?

Quran is not at all equal to God in anyway. It is far less than Allah.

In what way, the greatness of Jesus (pbuh) was equal to the greatness of God?
