As I have to keep saying, the Church are all born again believers, for many denominations.
I follow Christ and his teachings, which are clearly laid out in Scripture and there is no need for anything other that Scripture. Good teaching on the Scriptures is one thing, but it must not go against Scripture. We need God’s word and God’s word is enough.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16.
and what goes against Scriptures? who determines what goes against Scriptures? you? your denomination? the Catholic Church? who? as we know there are many enterpretations of the Scriptures now and days. have you gone back in history to see what the early Christians tought? what about the time when Holy Scriptures did not exist yet? who thought the people? do you know? did Jesus build a Church? what do you think the Apostles were doing during their time here on earth? if not building the Church. did the Apostles had authority given by Christ Himself? where do you thing that authority is today?

From King James :
Faith and Deeds
14What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

or the Catholic bible
6 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?** So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead**.

How does a scripture reader dismiss that?

The Church, of which I belong, was built on the Rock of my salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Apostles were given authority to preach the gospel to all nations, in his Holy name.
The authority is with Christ the Head of the Church.

There is one thing man must do and that is believe,

“Faith without works is dead.”

trust that what the Lord Jesus Christ did at calvary is enough to save them. Then God gives the new believer his Holy Spirit. He is then a changed creature. The problem is that there are many that profess to be saved and are giving the truly saved a bad name, people are looking at them and thinking that all Christians think they have a lisence to sin, because they are eternally saved. This of course is not what a true born again believer thinks. When we sin we are chastised by our Father, we will not get away with sin.

What do you mean by “not get away with sin” ?

A born again believer will sin, but will not want to carry on in sin. If a person wants to carry on in sin, I would doubt their conversion.
How do you explain, then, that born again people do carry on in sin?

You are born again, I assume. Do you say that because you don’t want to carry on in sin, you won’t sin again after today, will never commit a sin that you’ve commited in the past?

If you don’t want to continue on is sin, why are you still doing it? Do you think that the sins you commit are against your will? Don’t you think that we sin exactly because we want to? When we lie, isn’t it because we choose (want) to tell a lie? (As an example. I’m not calling you a liar. 🙂 )

Because faith and works go hand in hand.
A person who professes faith in Christ and has no works, is likely not saved at all.

We will always sin in this life, because only God is sinless, to say we don’t sin is a lie in itself.
I do believe though that the closer our walk with Christ, the less sin we will commit.
Even our very thoughts can be sin, we have not recieved our changed bodies yet. I do not want to sin and that is the truth, when I sin, I sin against God and I hate that.

what Church? your church?
what nations? including the Americans? did the Apostles came to Americas? how about Australia?

when was your church built? what year? by whom? after the Apostles left earth, was your church in existence? where did your church come from?

do you not believe in Apostolic succession?

are you willing to do anything for our Lord? including putting your emotions aside and seek His Truth? including giving the CC a chance if that is where the Truth is?

There are saints to share the gospel in all of these countries, God has greatly blessed these countries and many more.
I am part of the Church, which is built upon the Rock, Christ Jesus.
It makes no difference what a group of believers call their meeting place, if they are saved, they are part of Christ’s Church.

With strength given to me by the Lord, I would be willing to lay down my life for my Saviour as many saints have in the past.
When they are and were asked to deny Christ, they would not do it. I could not do this in my own strength though, no-one could.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13.

I put everything else to the side the moment I put all my trust in Christ and his finished work at calvary. I was just about to go looking at the catholic church when God saved me.
Now I dont need to look any further than my Saviour, I found what I was looking for in him and he will never let me go.

obiously you refuse to answer the questions. obviously we are not going to agree in what the Church is and what she represents on earth.

to you the Church is everyone holding the Bible. it does not matter what enterpretation is correct. to us Catholics the Church is One, One Faith not many faiths. the Spirit of Truth was given to One Church and not many. One enterpretation and not many. there is no such thing as many Truths but one Truth. Apostolic succession and not holding the Bible and claiming authority to teach( if so, than i can claim as much authority to teach as you. for i also have the Bible, therefore i can claim that i understand the Bible as much as you do. so you have no authority over me to come here and try to teach me.) hope you get it this time.

A person who professes faith in Christ and has no works, is likely not -]saved at all/-] having faith at all.
Woah, you’re good, maybe your ancestors are responsible for adding and taking away from God’s word too. 😉

That’s fine, you don’t have to listen to me.
I don’t believe the catholic church is ‘‘the Church’’, but you do and that’s your choice.

Lol, these discussions make laugh/cry.

Brit, if the Catholic Church is all a lie, then her teachings pose no threat to you. But since she claims to have the fullness of the truth and a much more intimate personal relationship with Jesus than you and your church do - why don’t you properly investigate with an open mind? You might say that you have no need to because you are already saved. But think for one moment; what if you’re not? In fact, you are not saved - at least not in the sense you mean. Because that is a fictional concept made up by Luther and supported by others since because they are rightly very frightened of the idea of losing their salvation.

I dare you to investigate Catholicism. Put all of your preconceived notions aside, and have a look. It makes a lot of sense. Here are a run down of some facts that might whet your appetite:
  • It was the authority of the Church that determined what books were in Sacred Scripture
  • We and the Orthodox are the only bodies that take John 6 as Jesus wanted. Look at the proto-protestants in that chapter, who left him over the doctrine of the Eucharist. Look at Judas, who is called a devil because he didn’t believe, which is what led him to betray him.
  • We and the Orthodox are the only bodies to continue Jesus’s commands - in terms of the successors of the apostles exercising their god-given powers to forgive sins, and to “do” the last supper in memory of him. not re-enact - actually do.
  • All of the writers of the new testament were Catholic. St Paul was a Catholic. He went to mass. St Luke was a Catholic. He went to mass. He writes about mass in Acts.
  • We acknowledge the incidence of the Eunuch in acts to be true, and st peter’s comments about personal interpretations of scripture being twisted.
I hope those give you a few examples of the Catholic Church being the most faithful to Jesus’s commands - including being ONE - rather than numerous. Join us, come home.

That’s fine, you don’t have to listen to me.
I don’t believe the catholic church is ‘‘the Church’’, but you do and that’s your choice.
Yes, but one of us has to be wrong, don’t we? Neither of us might be right - but one of us is definitely wrong. Relativism is not true.

Woah, you’re good, maybe your ancestors are responsible for adding and taking away from God’s word too. 😉
Our ancestors WROTE God’s word down, and they compiled it. If they did, then your Scriptures are defunct too.
