@commenter

So what would make this different from organizations like EWTN or Catholic Answers?

Are the latter approved in some sense?

Yes, they Ewtn, CA, are in union with their local bishop.

Years ago, if a ministry wasn’t able to meet that minimum standard, prudent Catholics would give it little attention.

Today, programs not only admit they failed that standard, they boast that they are “independent”, as an asset!. This is part of the protestantization of many Catholics. We are pushed towards a sola scriptura, sola traditio, mentality.

I’m out of the loop. What have they done that was homophobic or hateful?

There are too many bishops for me to know if they are “doing their jobs.” I suppose some have not. And some have definitely failed in serious ways.
Church Militant’s “issue” is that they have pretty much lost all faith in the bishops as a whole. While they might approve of a bishop here and there, they have seen far too many bad bishops get away with things while the so called good bishops say nothing.

Church Militant has also been saying things against Cardinal Wuerl for a very long time, and would get very frustrated with mainstream, Conservative Catholic Media as they were cozy with Wuerl. Now, everyone is avoiding Wuerl and bashing him, but Church Militant has been doing that the whole time.

So to answer your question: what drives them is bishops who are not willing to be persecuted for the faith and cardinals who are not willing to die for the faith. And this has caused them to be very suspect of all bishops.

Personally, I don’t like Vorris’ style and I wish they would build up more evidence before blasting bishops. However, thanks to the +Vigano letters, I’m starting to think perhaps Church Militant is giving us more truth than most of us care to know.

God Bless

Actually, the National Catholic Reporter, Catholics for Choice, fundamentalist tracts aimed at Catholics, have all been pushing this same line. Essentially they, like CM, promote private interpretation of Scripture and Tradition. Every man his own bishop, his own pastor. The Far Right, the Far Left, and the Far Fundamentalist have superficial differences, but they all are really pushing people to the same place.

I read this very recently and while you’ll have to take it with a grain of salt, I think it captures some of the issues with Voris quite ably:

And the original piece:

I don’t doubt Voris’ heart. But I think he’s now become entrenched in a specific view and everything in his organization hinges on maintaining it – even when it’s not appropriate.

I find that Church Militant is certainly more effective at saving souls than the some of the bishops. People want to answers maybe actually watch the videos and see the other content they have. They have no intention to destroy the church they love the church more than some bishops do. Also read the catcheism
**[2357] Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved

CM. A good example of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Calling people "homos’ and all the rest, well I can only overlook stuff like that for so long.

“Yeah, we would love to save your soul… till then your just a big ole hell bound h**o.” No thanks Mike. I’’ go see Matt over at the Remnant if I need to indulge my conservative side. … They say there isn’t anything worse than an ex-smoker.

Speculating that CM is moved by the same Spirit that moved Savonarola against Alexander VI and the utterly corrupt Papacy and Curia of his day. I hope CM’s heart is in te right place. “Homophobia” is a propaganda word of the Devil. Also anyone who harms a homosexual is sinning. That can not be laid at CM’s door. The CCC teaches the constant teaching of the Catholic Church that homosexual acts are disordered and can ever be approved of. There are benighted souls who take that as a license to harm. They are wrong.

Several decades ago, most people felt guilty about attending any movie remotely like porn, or explicitly gruesome. So independent producers began making these disguised Exploitation pictures. They opened with fake “documentary” style. A narrator in a suit, or in a doctor’s outfit, gave a very serious warning to parents, teachers, concerned citizens about the menace of promiscuity, drugs, out of control hot rods etc.

Then they would portray these evils as flamboyantly, enjoyably as possibl for 80 minutes. Then they would close with the serious narrator returning with a warning, this is presented in the interest of public awareness. These exploitation movies were able to hook a big audience share.

CM along with it’s competitors is hooking people with lurid. They combine sex with explicit disaster, the gruesome, and tempt their minions to indulge in the secular pleasure of trashing religious authority.

They attract readers and donors who would not send money to read the same stuff in Jack Chick or Call to Action .

I agree CM sensationalizes the scandals being uncovered in our Church. It is a dangerous course Michael Voris is pursuing. His soul’s wellbeing is at stake. On the other hand the corruption within our Church is so vile, it needs to be excised. The calamity that threatens the Church’s witness to the Truth is grave. The vile corruption uncovered over the last two decades, from the Curia, Episcopacy, Priesthood causes the deepest hurt of Catholic Christians. It has to be exposed and dealt with. So any excess of fireworks by CM and Lifesite is small compared to the monstrous betrayal by persons in holy orders. We can not cover up these monstrous crimes to protect the reputation of the Catholic Church. Reform of the Catholic Church must be throughout from top to bottom. Undoubtably God is cleaning house. Let nothing stand in God’s Way. This situation of corruption is not new to the Catholic Church. Every age has had to deal with this filth. St. John Chrysostom in the 5th century noted that the entrance to Hell was paved with the skulls of bishops. St Cathetine of Siena, in the 14th century, used a perfumed cloth to shield her from the stench of evil openly practiced in the Curial halls and chapels of the Vatican, etc. etc. Those in power, not all but enough, will stupe to any depravity to maintain themselves in the pleasures to which they have accustomed themselves. The mitre does not confer holiness to those who wear it.

I don’t think CM is in anyway comparable to Jack Chick. Jack Chick attacks doctrine mainly, CM attacks real and vile doings among some of the ordained. There is a danger for Catholics to want to obstruct this tear down of institutional corruption too rampant in the Church. This inner corruption is perhaps the root cause of the failure of bishops to cathechize the faithful. If polls are to be believed the majority of American Catholics do not attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days and in Europe it is well above a simple majority. If polls are believed most Catholics deny the Real Presence; most uphold same sex “equality” including “marriage,” most practice artificial contraception, too great a percent are “pro-choice,” leaving most of the people who style themselves as Catholic indistinguishable from the wider culture of the day, little different from the mainline Protestant churches who themselves are in the gripe of apostasy from historic Christian moral teaching. Most Catholics are profoundly ignorant of the Truths of Revelation. What have the bishops been up to? Are we in the midst of the Great Apotasy?

ahh, I agree and disagree with this statement at the same time.

Church Militant does not object to the office of Bishop. However, they currently suspect many bishops to be closet heretics.

The National Catholic Reporter & Catholics for Choice are actually promoting heresy.

Where they are all similar, is in the fact that reject/challenge the current authority. But they’re all differ in what their goals are.

Aaron Bianco’s story doesn’t add up. St. John the Evangelist Church itself wasn’t touched, where there are visible cameras. Bianco’s office was…which leads me to believe that the vandalism was fake. There are plenty of stories of LGBTQ folks faking violence towards themselves to gain attention. Narcissism is diabolical.

Nobody ever went broke, or lost audience share, by urging people to focus on in lurid details, confess, and repent the sins of other people.

I think this is a wake-up call. Throughout the Bible, it is clearly stated how God feels about homosexuality. There is simply great conflict and perhaps wither one is taking communion respectfully. It is a sin. They are not going to change the bible, or the church is invalid. The Church Militant is trying to preserve the church because if liberal people cast away God’s Holy Word, than it simply becomes a meaningless organization. The direction in the country today is simply to “tear down” all boundaries.

I think anyone has the potential to be brainwashed, especially if they exclusively favor one source. This goes for political news as well. Think of someone who watches only Fox News, or only MSNBC – here in America, at least.

Yes, this sounds about right. I never thought about it like that before.

All of the above toss out Peter.

You are perfect about stated facts. Once they are in and God’s standards are lost, you can never go back because these people are protected. The church is under intense attack.
