What has caused the homosexual boom in our time?

Hate to break it to you guys, but, the tragic truth is that euthanasia is one of the best kept secrets of America. It has been here for a long time and is practiced every day in America - as for the victim - willingly, unknowingly or by force. :sad_yes:
I think that is what he meant. To wit: forced euthanasia practiced, not secretly, but openly and with the full endorsement of government.

It’s your claim. The sources you (apparently) rely on (given your linking to Wikipedia) are made up of anonymous blogs (which don’t cite sources), cheerleaders of homosexual activity, and in general, non-scholarly writings. You don’t seem to understand how to make a claim; you have to use good sources before anyone is to take you seriously.

**Eh, do you not realize that the use of boys by older Afghan men is very, very well-documented? All you had to do was google “dancing boys Afghanistan” to find as many articles and citations as you can read.

washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/afganistans-dancing-boys-are-invisible-victims/2012/04/04/gIQAyreSwS_story.html**

Note that the tenure of Afghan dancing boys mentioned in the Washington Post piece is almost exactly the same as for “youths” in Ancient Greece: ““When he starts growing a beard, his time will expire, and I will try to find another one who doesn’t have a beard,” Assadula said.”

**Believe it or not, “cheerleaders of homosexual activity” are very unlikely to want to draw a line between themselves and Afghan pederasty or Greek pederasty. (It is true, though, that there is widespread misrepresentation of the nature of ancient Greek homosexuality, which was far closer to Afghan pederasty than to modern gay marriage.)

So instead you’ve encountered this information in an unstructured manner, which does not provided the proper context and background for it (not that a typical college education does either, deliberately or not).

**So, if I understand you correctly:
  1. information learned in college is worthless
and
  1. information picked up on one’s own is equally worthless.
Come on–where are we supposed to learn from, if not from either college or personal reading?

You have backpedaled considerably from your original comment, I see.

???

What I find interesting is how little your wide-ranging belief is based on. It’s not that you have a desire to believe what LGBT activists want you to believe (and they care even less about scholarly methods), but that you’re realizing cognitive biases are at work here. For example, the illusory truth effect and the anchoring bias. The media definitely plays a role in leading people to believe things without even having to lie about it (per se). There are many millennials who believe that homosexuals make up 30% of the US population - they haven’t been explicitly lied to, but the media has led (or allowed) them to believe false things (cognitive biases at work, again).
Again, you’ve cited nothing.

I’ve given half a dozen citations and examples. You’ve provided nothing in response.

Indeed. Since the late 1900s, females can do no wrong, and males can do no right. Just listen to Doctor Laura.

Yet at the same time that femalism is placed on a pedestal, the great glory of the feminine, children, has been denigrated. Consider the companion quote to the one above quoted:

**“If I wanted to hear the pitter-patter of little feet, I’d put boots on my cat!” **

ICXC NIKA.
So true. I have been reading some ‘scholarly’ and not so ‘scholarly’ articles on pedophiles given the problem it has posed to the priesthood. And, one thing that sticks out is how people in general when they think or discuss the topic do not consider in their investigation or thinking - females. We leave females out, as if females cannot be pedophiles. This neglect may be limiting our understanding of the ‘malady.’ books.google.com/books?id=HCrKAgAAQBAJ&pg=PA181&lpg=PA181&dq=gynephiles&source=bl&ots=uKRy9rEN34&sig=uPSOY27R5Q1TMQs06dsG0agXKfI&hl=en&sa=X&ei=2oaZVZ6tNIeZsAWjw4nYBg&ved=0CGUQ6AEwCw#v=onepage&q=gynephiles&f=false
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1556756

I am surprised at how many female pedophiles there are and have been and most of them are teachers. I watched some documentaries on Youtube and they are mostly composed of clip, after news clip of arrests -Female Pedophiles ~ The BIG List Documentary {Part 1} (Mirror) . Just yesterday, another hit the news - Former Rockingham County teacher pleads guilty to sexual activities with student myfox8.com/2015/07/07/former-rockingham-county-teacher-pleads-guilty-to-sexual-activities-with-student/

I hope we soon come to a better understanding about this dreadful problem.

I think it’s apparent to me now that there is evidence of a grave lack of reading comprehension in your replies. Remember to pay close attention to what others write and respond only to that.
Is this supposed to be a source or a second opinion?

Again, you are either relying heavily on strawman arguments or you have failed to comprehend what I’ve written. Either way, your summary is completely inadequate. Go back to my comment and re-read it.
Again, you’ve cited nothing.
You have failed to back up your claim in the first place. The burden is on you to demonstrate the truth of your claim, not on me.
I’ve given half a dozen citations and examples. You’ve provided nothing in response.
Not quite.

And again, please learn to quote properly. If you fail a third time to quote properly, I will be forced to assume that you’re doing so out of malice.

*Many real vampires report feeding on psychic or pranic energy, and pranic energy is believed to be strongly connected to nature, generally, and often breathing, specifically (Belanger, 2004). Some vampires, called “sanguinarians,” seem to prefer feeding by consuming small amounts of human blood (or animal blood), which can be easily obtained, among other ways, by making a tiny incision (i.e., with a razor or scalpel) on the upper part of the donor’s chest and is then licked or sucked by the vampire. “Hybrid” vampires report feeding from more than one form (i.e., psychically or from blood). It is generally expected within the community that vampires should act ethically and responsibly in feeding practices.

Unlike lifestyle vampires, real vampires believe that they do not choose their vampiric condition; they are born with it, somewhat akin to sexual orientation (Laycock, 2010). Thus, real vampirism should be approached as an alternative identity, rather than as an institution (Laycock, 2010). Some real vampires report wishing that they did not have a vampiric condition, stating that their lives would be easier without it (Laycock, 2010). For some, vampire community events provide an important source of social support (Browning, in press).*

Removal of all recognition that same-sex attraction is in any way a disordered attraction was huge. Once this happened, then all negative assessments of what had suddenly been deemed a normal and equal mode of sexual expression automatically became oppressive, bigoted, and so on. Homosexuals became not the victims of disordered biology or psychology, but the victims of oppressive social systems. Fighting these social systems became a heroic civil rights struggle.
If one examines the scientific understanding we have of other sexual behaviours, such as pedophilia, you will be struck by the similarities with homosexuality.

“Pedophilia emerges before or during puberty, and is stable over time. It is self-discovered, not chosen. For these reasons, pedophilia has been described as a disorder of sexual preference, phenomenologically similar to a heterosexual or homosexual sexual orientation. These observations, however, do not exclude pedophilia from the group of mental disorders because pedophilic acts cause harm, and pedophiles can sometimes be helped by mental health professionals to refrain from acting on their impulses which cause harm to children…”

“[Studies] suggest that there are one or more neurological characteristics present at birth that cause or increase the likelihood of being pedophilic.”

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedophilia

The removal of homosexuality from the List of sexual (medical) disorders is not to be taken as a scientific conclusion that “there’s nothing amiss here”, but rather a decision to “leave it alone”, justified on the basis of “it does no harm”.

If you can find it, read After the Ball. It was written in 1989 as a marketing plan to make homosexual behavior acceptable to the general public. The book is out of print and generally “lost” in public libraries. I had to scrounge in private academic libraries, but am presently reading it and taking notes since I will probably not have it available again. It even has mocked up print ads and suggestions for PSAs. The project has worked spectacularly.
Also, identifying as lesbian/gay is chic in universities, and you get lots of attention for being “brave”. It is also taught as being a wonderful thing, along with the extreme fluidity of gender. Personally, I think calling sexual identification fluid and simultaneously claiming people are “born that way” is contradictory, but I know to keep my mouth shut. Anyone who disagrees with the current narrative is automatically a hater and a bigot. The only homosexual members of my family are college graduates, and I can’t help wondering if there is some encouragement they got at a formative time in their lives.
We have a copy of this book that we were able to find at a used book store. My DH was very interested in reading it because his brother became a militant gay rights activist (he came out to his family when he was in college). Sadly, my in-laws fell for a lot of what he was feeding them from this book. My BIL is atheist, but my in-laws remained (cafeteria) Catholics. However, they presented themselves as devout Catholics, attending daily mass, were extraordinary ministers and the like. Sadly, I think the lulled some Catholics into thinking that having a gay sexual relationship was OK. They tried to convince us, but we would not hear of it.

I also agree that at liberal universities around us, the is a “chic-ness” to identifying as homosexual. A Chinese acupuncturist I went to was worried that her daughter would turn into a lesbian when she went to college. Actually, her conversations about her daughter sort of creeped me out. I stopped going to her. So, this is some of the culture aspects I encountered.
