So then, you don’t believe only what is canonized in scripture, but also what the living prophet teaches? I agree that that is the true and historical LDS position. But you and zerinus and the other LDS need to get together and reach a concensus, because many of them would disagree with you on that.
Once again, Paul, you have put your finger on the “problems” of mormonism. The first problem is the absolute falsity of mormonism. The second problem is the lack of consensus as to what constitutes mormon “doctrine.” The third problem is, religion by consensus is no religion at all. I would certainly stake my eternal salvation on “consensus”, which mormons are really doing. The senile maunderings of some old man in Salt Lake City bears no resemblance to the Rock of Peter, commisioned by Christ Himself. mormon “apostles” raising someone from the dead? I am really from Missouri, you are really going to have to “show me.” With photographs and a coroner’s report.Of course, that still leaves the problem of the horrible things your previous living prophets taught about Adam-God, blood atonement, the inferiority of black people, polygamy necessary for exaltation, etc.
