What is it that homosexuals really want?

Indeed, it could.

I suggest we actually try instead of whining about gay marriage and the “gay agenda” on threads with news stories of homosexuals being literally bullied to death.
except that “bullied to death” isn’t actually occuring.

bullying is bad. all bullying is bad. bullying for any reason of any person is bad.

repeating stories that have no factual basis is also bad.

please read this article: livescience.com/8734-gay-…-epidemic.html

Relevant portions below.
what is the gay teen suicide rate? No one knows. “How could anyone hope to measure gay teen suicides accurately?” Best said. “Coroners, after all, do not record sexual orientation on death certificates.” Without accurate numbers on how many gay teens there are, any estimate about their suicide rate is little more than a guess.
One researcher, Cornell University’s Ritch Savin-Williams, examined the two studies that had asserted the high gay teen suicide rate and found many methodological flaws.
There’s no doubt that many gay teens are harassed and bullied (a study published in the January 2010 issue of the Journal of Adolescent Health suggested gay and lesbian teens get bullied two to three times more than their heterosexual peers), and some of them may take their lives because of it. But there’s little evidence that gay teens have a dramatically higher rate of suicide than heterosexual teens.

To my knowledge, other than Matthew Shepard and some other isolated cases, this actually doesn’t happen terribly often. Homosexuals are well tolerated in the United States, and in most Western countries, including John’s country of Australia.

Homosexuals are frequently stoned to death in Islamic countries like Iran, but at the rate homosexual ‘marriage’ activists continue to drone on, you’d think it was happening here in our own backyard.

So just because I think it would be courteous for homosexuals to dress appropriately in my Church, I and others are equated to these same people over in the neighboring North American country of Iran? I guess they’re right about it being in our backyard…my geography is a little rusty, but I think Iran is situated somewhere between Canada and Alaska, right?

You are here responding to 1ke, who wrote this -
.
Unless one has been hiding under a rock for quite some years, it is rather apparent that 1ke’s statement is exactly correct. We know this because of the grand efforts of the gay and lesbian asociations and their lobbiests who have been quite explicit about their demands for total equality.
As opposed to the Church advocating for “semi-equality”? Huh?! What do you mean?
I notice you have Cathar beside your specified religion. I’m intrigued. I thought that movement vanished quite a few hundred years ago.
If by “vanished” you mean “murdered” then yeah. Murdered. Sorry, couldn’t resist. The euphemisms are out of control.

Then why didn’t you put Catholic next to your name?

Frightened?
…that sounds like bullying too. But then again, I don’t have “Catholic” next to my name, so my opinion doesn’t count. 😛

Lord knows why you answered a post addressed to someone else.

Never mind…

So what happened to the title of Cathar that was next to your name?

Did you ‘murder’ yourself?

Or maybe you’ve given up on the time travel and are now going to stay amongst us?

HA! Why would I be scared to be Catholic in a Catholic forum?

I didn’t put it because I thought it was redundant and unnessisary.
So in a thread with a decidedly religious and theological tone, that is home to not only Catholics, but also Protestants, Orthodox, as well as Jews…

You thought you might imitate the tendency of atheist trolls by leaving the religious category blank? You thought filling in your religious background was redundant?

Or was it because you know very well that you are posting anti-Catholic and morally relativistic nonsense and didn’t want to be identified as Catholic?

If that’s the case, then you are being disengenuous.

Now tell me, in all honsesty, how could your Catholicism ever be redundant? Anywhere at any time?

It can’t be. Unless you want it to be.

I apologize, it’s obvious you are not hostile in the least. 😃

Do you know what redundant means? Go look it up, I’ll wait.

It can mean “Exceeding what is necessary or natural; superfluous.”

Or, it can mean “surplus to requirements; unnecessary or superfluous”.

Which leads me, once again, to ask why you would make your Catholicism redundant, anywhere, anytime?

Scared?

Only took two replies for someone to bring the notion of “SSA” into the mix. That was quick. Nevermind that the term is nowhere in the Catechism and the term doesn’t exist outside of CAF circles.
Google “Same Sex Attraction” and you will find that it’s in fairly widespread usage. I certainly had heard it long before joining CAF. Sorry to nitpick, but I just wondered why the term seems to offend you. It seems pretty neutral, non-controversial, and accurate to me.🤷

Code:
No longer needed or useful; superfluous.
(of words or data) Able to be omitted without loss of meaning or function.
I don’t need to state that I’m Catholic in a Catholic forum. If I was something else it would significant. If I was an Anglican, Lutheran, Buddhist then I would state that so people would know that I was coming from another faith.

I’m not, so I didn’t. Don’t you assume that most people at Mass are Catholic? So you’re barking up the wrong tree.

I don’t know what wrong in your life that makes you want to bully people but I’m sorry that it happened to you. 😦 I will pray for you, for God to soften your heart.

There are Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox, Jews, and evidently time traveling Cathars on these forums my friend, it’s actually quite an important identifier.

Usually only atheist trolls refuse to identify a religion, and understandably so. I don’t think that’s a signal you want to be broadcasting. So please, identify your gang colors.

I have a great deal of sympathy toward persons with same sex attraction. Exactly the same as I have for my single son and daughter who have opposite sex attraction but are unmarried. All of them are called to be chaste in their state of life.

Just because somebody has sexual urges is no reason to presume they should be morally free to act on those urges. That’s what I don’t understand. The concept of wrong is in the act, not in the attraction. Why doesn’t that message come through?

I’m not going to be bullied into it. So, if someone asks I’ll tell them. Otherwise…🤷

What he said.

Plus…

Why do you think the ‘religion’ option is there in the first place?

It’s so people, who have the courage to do so, can let us know where it is their thinking comes from. As Deus_lo_vult so aptly pointed out, most CAF members don’t have any qualms in stating their positions, even some hardcore atheists. If you didn’t look through some threads before posting here and so you failed to notice all the various religious identifiers people use, it just proves you jumped in here with some insults before you put your thinking cap on.

Of course, if you wish to make posts that are at odds with Catholic beliefs, then ommitting ‘Catholic’ as an indentifier gets you off the hook as a heretic, doesn’t it? It means you can say whatever you like and you can’t be accused of slighting not onlu your own Church, but your Catolic bretheren. Does it not?

Then, conversely, it also means if you actually should choose to advocate Catholic thinking, the non-Catholics will not come down on you for sprouting what some of them like to label as fairy tales.

Either way, having stated you have always been Catholic, the leaving that Catholic identifier off your profile reeks of simple cowardice.

Again, I ask, why is it that you feel your Catholic identifier is redundant, unless you deliberately wish it to be.

I also would like to know how it is that asking questions or answering insults can be construed as ‘bullying’. Please, do explain. I wait with bated breath…
