Abortions and Sex Reassignment treatments are not defining characteristics of Socialism. One can easily imagine the socialism of Finland without these things.
These services are for by the taxpayers of Finland.

Sure, they are legal in America, but are generally paid for by willing individuals, not immorality paid for by the government.

The evil is in doing these things at all, not in who pays for them. Do you think God is going to let us off the hook on abortions as long as tax dollars are not used to pay for them? And even where the services are paid for by the government in Finland, they are still procured by willing individuals.

I’d say there is evil in both doing those things as well as in paying for them.

If you pay someone else for a contract murder, that is a crime and that is a sin too- not just the individual that actually commits the homicide.

By making the taxpayer pony up for this, the taxpayer is also guilty of the act by enabling it.

Who pays is a minor point. But you are missing the larger point. It was not about Finland specifically. The question was about socialism and capitalism. As I said, one can easily imagine Finish-type socialism without abortion, and it would not be condemned by the Church. Read the Catechism on this. I quoted the relevant section above.

"Who pays"is not a “minor point”.

A lot of personally non-violent people have been sent to the electric chair for merely paying for someone’s murder.

I suppose I could “imagine” Finnish collectivism without abortion paid for by the taxpayers.

But that’s not what they have, that’s just imaginary at this point in time.

Again, this thread is not about Finland. It is about the general concept of socialism and capitalism. Please read the Catechism that I quoted.

It might come as a surprise to you but there are the occasional wealthy people that believe they should be paying high taxes.
Do they really though? Because there’s nothing in the law that makes them pay the minimum. They can make gifts to the US Government

https://www.fiscal.treasury.gov/fsfaq/fs_gifts_to_govt.htm

And I’d bet bill gates still has an army of accountants making sure his estate maximizes all the tax deductions and credits he qualifies for.
