What is The Cross...without The Christ?

2nd Gen. is one of the most aggressive posters on this forum, but he is proving to be the least educated in even the basics of the Christian faith (Catholic or Protestant). He argues for argument sake, and now his flirting with a “two resurrection” theory is putting him dangerously close to traveling down the road of the cults and those who espouse heresy.
Did you “totally” miss the point that The Saints were raised upon the very moment that Jesus died “before” He was ressurected?

I cannot speak from a position of authority in this matter, for there is only One that can judge the Truth here. I will, though, pose a question…Does Jesus love more the person that prays to a cross with a corpus on it, or does he love the person who prays to the cross alone?

In addition, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, 653, states the following, "The truth of Jesus’ divinity is confirmed by his Resurrection. He had said, “When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am he.” The resurrection of the crucified one shows that he was truly the “I Am,” the Son of God himself.

651 - 'If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain." The Resurrection above all constitutes the confirmation of all Christ’s works and teachings. All truths, even those most inaccessible to human reason, find their justification if Christ by his Resurrection has given the definitive proof of his divine authority, which he had promised.

We are all brothers and sister in Jesus. It is so because He gave to us His Mother, and us to Her. Let’s not argue over our differences, but come together over our common beliefs. When I pray to a cross, with or without a corpus, I feel no different. I see Him there always, and I see His rising, always.

Remember charity and humility, above all things, will bring you to Christ.

I was referring to what you wrote here:
Hmmm…the Centurion says “Truly this was the Son of God.”
Past tense. Jesus was still dead when He said this.
Does this mean that Jesus was ressurected spiritually before His body was ressurected?
So then, the physical ressurection that took place later had nothing to do with paying for our sin. But, it was His spiritual ressurection.
There’s no such thing as a “spiritual” resurrection. As to the saints being raised the very moment He died:Matt 27:53 "…and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many…

Hey McFly,

This ?] means question (not statement).

Get a grasp of grammar before you begin to put words in people’s mouths.

Yes. It may be best to ignore him.

Pretty simple if you ask me…

Any one who has a problem with an empty cross needs to reexamine their faith… They have been used from the beginning…

Anyone who has a problem with the crucifixion needs to go back and reexamine their faith… They have been used from the beginning…

Both are powerful, both are useful… Both signify the importance of Christ

In Christ
