Hello to all,
I read all the posts and am more confused than ever. Thanks! (just kidding)
When my brother died as a Jehovah’s Witness, many Catholics condemned him to hell.
Believe me it was a huge turn off to the Catholic faith.
I must say too, that I have been condemned to hell by a Baptist (once saved, always saved). Sorry, but I just cannot swallow that one.
3 years ago, I have been praying to God for his Truth and that I may be humble enough to accept it and follow his path. This my friends, has been a whirlwind of a journey. Beautiful, but full of trials!
After reading this thread, I have a clearer understanding of what sanctifying grace is compared to plain old grace, and what really sin can do to our soul.
Truthfully, I know, by God’s Grace, I am led to the Catholic church. I prayed for the humility to accept his truth, as I am defiant by nature. I cannot with a good conscience go any other way. I would be rejecting his Truth as it is revealed to me.
I believe my brother has a shot at receiving Salvation, despite the fact they that JW believe that Jesus is not God. He was in a misguided religion to no fault of his own. God is merciful to his mis-guided children.
After all, did not Jesus save the guy hanging on the cross next to him, because Truth was revealed to him? I think God reveals his truth at some point in our lives. What we do with that Truth is our choice.
Pray for the God’s Truth, pray for the humility to accept it. It is not easy as sometimes the truth can be.
Thanks for the posting
