It is of course essential to mention the flood, the ark and the animals but in the story of Noah (pbuh), it is Noah himself who is the main character and the antagonist are his people who stubbornly and mockingly opposed what he was telling them.

The flood, the ark and the animals on board are the supporting cast to this main story but Christians have somehow contrived to make them to be the stars of the show so to speak.

In Islam, the story of Noah is NOT about the flood, the ark or the animals, it really is about the mission of a Prophet of God named Nuh (pbuh).
Actually, Noah is not the main actor in it, either. God is. There is a message in the story that might be missed in Islam.

But, help us out a little. According Islam, how long did it rain, how long were they in the boat, etc

Reading the posts made by the Muslims, I think they’re just an attempt to de-fame Christianity.:compcoff:

Don’t give them that much credit. To be honest, some of the sources they use are. However, most of them come from a place where learning about Christianity can be a crime. They use approved books and websites, and just blindly follow along

Ya invite someone to show and tell …and they don’t show up.

Does this mean I don’t get to hear the story of Noah and the flood?

Yeppers, I saw it…thank you:)

I was just hoping to find out about life on the big boat;)
Hamba will not show up except to do some more posts underling what we really need to know about this account. His posts only saving grace are that he does honestly say he thinks all the Christians will be burning in the hellfire so to give him his due he doesn’t dance around , at least on that point.
:rotfl:

Oh my

As some might have already figured out by now, Muslims view the story of Prophet Noah (pbuh) from a very different perspective than Christians who seem engrossed with the details of the flood, the ark and the animals on board when it comes to the story of Noah (pbuh).

Anyhow, this is what Islam teaches about the end of the life of Prophet Noah (pbuh), which from a Muslim point of view, is infinitely more beneficial to one’s spiritual wellbeing than any details about the flood, the ark or the animals on board that one might one to know about:

'Abdullah Ibn 'Amru Ibn Al’aas narrated that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “When the death of the Messenger of Allah Noah approached, he admonished his sons: 'Indeed I would give you far-reaching advice, commanding you to do two things, and warning you against doing two as well. I charge you (to believe) that there is no god but Allah and that if the seven heavens and the seven earths were put on one side of a scale and the words “There is no god but Allah” were put on the other, the latter would outweigh the former. And I warn you against associating partners with Allah and against pride.” Sahih Al-Bukhari

Oh give me a break… How’d you make that baseless inference?

No, it is not more beneficial. In fact, it show how little Muhammed knew about Christianity.

Noah shows us that God does not hate humanity itself, only the sin. As such, he will always save those who trust in him. Noah shows us that doing what is asked if us by God will put us at odds with the world, but it will be our salvation in the end. Noah shows us a prefiguring of the salvation of baptism, where through water, sin is washed away and a new bond between God and man is created. Finally, Noah shows us how it will be in the end: only those who are saved through Jesus Christ will remain.

From what you have posted, Noah was there to support Muhammed. That is bogus on so many levels

How did I make that inference??

I read the posts of the Christians on these message boards and in particular, the questions which they have asked on this thread.

Like I have explained, Muslims know the exact reason why the Lord destroyed the people of Noah (pbuh) i.e. why the airplane crashed.

Christians, on the other hand, seem content to blame “pilot error” or “mechanical failure” as the cause of the crash without p(name removed by moderator)ointing the exact reason why it happened.

This fact alone shows that the Muslim flight to Paradise is a great deal safer to board than the Christian flight.

I mean, in real life, would you board an airplane whose pilot does not know why the previous flight had crashed?

In real life, the aviation authorities would likely ground the airplanes until they had determined the exact cause and rectified whatever faults that was responsible for the crash.

Well there’s a multitude of morral instructions we can recieve from the story of Noah:

“By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.” -Hebrews 11:7

Jesus said: “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.” -Matthew 24:36-40

One taken, and the other left. See-ya!

Hamba,
Please READ what I wrote in that post. The story of Noah is NOT ABOUT NOAH!!! IN fact, the entire Bible is about ONE THING. It is about God desiring a relationship with Man. It reaches its fullest point through Jesus Christ.

The story of Noah is to show some of that relationship.

The fact that the Qur’an says that it is about Christians being wrong shows how flawed the Qur’an is.

J C, thanks for joining me with hamba. I have followed the posts and I found that hamba had done very well to tell the real story and the crime of the Noah’s people to the Cathoilcs. But the catholics did not like it. I do not find anything wrong with the writing of hamba.

Also, the quotation given by you (J C) from the Quran also tells that the people of Noah were evil. Their evil is also described in the Quran. Associating any one with God is the worst evil. I hope you will agree.

The thread was not started by any Muslim. The question was asked from a Muslim. I do not see why the Cathoilcs are upset by the answer. Unless they are guilty conscious.

I would say “Well Done” to hamba who took up on himself to give a good reply. The basic (Primary) crime of the people of Noah was idolatory. They were pagans.

Where does it say that?
You have to “speak” Islam. Assigning partners to God is ALWAYS used as the sin committed by Christians in saying Jesus is God. It is the only sin that lands you in hell forever.

Basically, the evil of Noah’s time, according to them, is believing like Christians

Oh, well that’s idiotic. A simple look at a few flood legends and you’ll know. there were demon men (Nephilim) who devoured men. They came about by the union between the Annunaki (those who’m from heaven to earth came) or the “sons of God” (angels.) And men were sinful and proud of it. It was said that Lamech slain a man and boasted about it. It had nothing to do with assigning a partner to God. And Muslims, for the record, the prophet Isaiah called the Messiah “Mighty God” in Isaiah 9:6

Now, you know good and well that whomever it was that wrote the Qur’an did not know that Christians believe that God is one.
If Catholics believed in One God only then there would not have been any controversy with Jews and Muslims. The belief of the christians is not strictly monotheistic. The Christians have three pronged God or three gods in One God in some special way which others can never understand. They have God the Father, God the son and God the holy ghost, all gods combined into One God, I do not know His name. They may all be combined into the father, or Jesus, or…

If there is a Father God, a son God and a holy Ghost God, and it is believed that all three are One (may be combined into One) then that One must also have some name. Who is that??? and what is that??
