There’s a Nankeen night heron here, fairly rare in places but down along the coast I was suprised to see a couple very bold along pier, they must have been waiting for scraps.
I love the sound of the doves. Our magpies are quite different here, the more I watch them the more I apreciate them really.
You have such a wide variety of birds 🙂
Thanks - there are a lot of wetlands here, which birds love. (I should point out we don’t have loons where I live - I just like the idea of them, and look forward to seeing or hearing one).

And here is the Big Bear Valley bald eagle live cam! The parents just hatched two eaglets. I can spend quite a while watching this

Hi Chris!

Thanks for sharing this cam. with us, too!

I love watching birdie cams. ❤️

It’s always interesting to me to see what they end up eating, and what the parents feed to the little ones. The babies grow so fast, too. 🙂

I like the thunderbird from Native American mythology. The archnemesis of the thunderbird is the whale:

The original Thunderbird with the little round window in the back seat was really cool.

My older brother had an ancient 1988 Thunderbird as his first car, until the engine had a stroke and kicked the bucket. May God rest its soul.

Year bird #122, Canyon Wren. This bird has one of the nicer songs in the bird world

Year bird #124, Montezuma Quail. These birds are amazingly difficult to see much less photograph. More evidence of how much God truly loves me.

Pretty little bird. Nice colors and markings, well fed too. I’ll take two for my yard. Well, there is a big park right next to the house, as long as they don’t go too far.

Well, what about a withered bony hand that reached up to grab you by the ankle. Pretty sure that was part of the whole thing. Good thing you wear a scapular and medals or you would have been done for.
