I like the “Wizard of Oz” the best.
I have a Doctor’s Degree in literature, but I still like it the best.

Earlier, I said BRIANS SONG was my favorite movie.
It IS, as far as watching it once in a while goes. It is very
heart-wrenching.

But the BEST MOVIE EVER MADE, in my opinion,
is LAWRENCE OF ARABIA.

When LOA was re-released to the big screen in 1989,
I went to see that movie nine times, it enthralled me so much.
Awesome, spectacular, amazing.

Too late, the hero.
A bridge too far.
Godfather part 3 (my cousin acted in that film)

Man … it’s tough to name ONE movie … that’s why not many (any?) have.

Mine used to Indiana Jones, the first one - that is a classic

Night Shymalan has a few good ones.

‘Heat’ is another one - Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore etc that one had a good shoot out scene outside the bank.

I’m also a war junkie, so Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates, Blackhawk Down, When Trumpets Fade et al feature high on my ‘Good movies’ list!

*Fiddler on the Roof * Hands down. Good Will Hunting is a great one too. I really liked Phantom of the Opera too.

“The Mission”

I’m right with you on that one john ennis. However, some times it moves to the #2 spot when I’m in the mood to watch “To Kill a Mockingbird”, but it always moves right back into that #1 spot.

Serenity
Star Wars Episode 4
The Matrix
Star Wars Episode 3
The Blues Bothers 1 and 2

The Passion of the Christ

Shoes of the Fisherman (prophetic in its day – still interesting)

African Queen (Bogart Hepburn)

Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Haven’t yet seen Narnia, but have no doubt it will be a fave.

Casablanca (more Bogie)

On The Road pictures with Crosby & Hope

Almost forgot!!! Zorba the Greek

Sound of Music*👍
I just bought the 40th anniversary edition…lots of cool footage !

All time favorite? The Man From Snowy River ❤️
Currently watching? Serenity :yup:
Breakup movie? Last of the Mohicans :crying:

Helen Keller’s story called, The Miracle Worker, starring Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft. Both performances were magnificent though only Patty Duke received an Oscar at the time…
I have been graciously corrected. In point of fact, Anne Bancroft did receive an Oscar for best actress in 1963 for the Miracle Worker. Batjacboy kindly provided me with a link to the Academy Awards website. “Lawrence of Arabia” may have picked up best picture in 1963 but my vote remains with “The Miracle Worker”. “To Kill a Mockingbird” was made the same year.

I love a lot of classic movies with Cary Grant, Irene Dunn, Greer Garson, and Jimmy Stuart. But here are my favs:
  1. Lord of the Rings [1.)Fellowship 2.)Return of King 3.)Two towers]
  2. Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
  3. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith 👍

Heartbreak Ridge. I’m almost cultish about it.

Saw it in the theater back in '86 and it (sadly, perhaps) remains the only Clint movie I own on DVD, though I love “Unforgiven.”
