What makes a person beautiful?

For women, a man looks attractive if he has money and power. When you look at Donald Trump, you know Melania would never have fallen for him if he had been on social assistance when she met him.

For men, many of them end up with unkind wives because they were only looking for external beauty. They are willing to put up with a lot just to have a “beautiful” woman on their arm.

I can’t prove this, but I highly doubt Melania ever “fell” for Trump. I think she made a pretty straightforward transaction (“I’ll be your hot arm-candy, you let me live in the lap of luxury.”) I can’t imagine she genuinely found him physically attractive. He’s an overweight orange hued seventy year old with a ridiculous toupee and she’s a former nude model. I mean, c’mon.

Melania was successful on her own long before she met Trump
Not Mar-a-Lago level rich, by any means. She was a working model, sure. But her success was built on two things: 1) Being hot and 2) Being willing to be photographed nude/scantily dressed. She had to know that it wasn’t going to last forever. Looks fade. So she needed a sugar daddy.

I think it’s pretty subjective. I happen to think the singer Camilla Cabello is gorgeous, but my buddy doesn’t think she’s attractive at all.
I know one man who thinks Penelope Cruz is “unattractive,” and another who thinks Sandra Bullock looks “old and dried up.” The second guy’s wife is at least 150 pounds overweight, and he thinks she’s gorgeous. There’s a lot of subjectivity, I think, which is good.

I did not realize how “perfect” these were when I bought them, so, I did not buy two pair. Have never found them again. It is not difficult to wash out something and hang it up every night, just like washing my face 🙂

Moving forward in my minimalism, I am down to 5 tops, two sweaters and some layering pieces. Everything of those is black, navy or grey. I add variety with scarves to match the season, have about 4 statement necklaces. There are a couple of very dressy tops that I keep for special, formal occasions.

Kind of sad to assume about people.I will give them the benifit of the doubt because others relationships arn’t mine to dissect and speculate.

Meh. I acknowledged I’m just speculating, and it’s not like Trump has been shy about placing his relationships with women in the public eye.

To me, beauty is reflecting to others what God created us to be in excellent ways that give Him glory. This is accomplished by knowing and acting upon the virtues He gifted to us.

I believe when we live by His grace, true beauty emerges.

if you would’ve said Danny DeVito I would’ve agreed but I know women who like John Goodman because of how he acted in Roseanne

What makes a person beautiful?
Sexually attractive you mean?
Inner beauty?
outer beauty?
The beauty of Audrey Hepburn versus Marilyn Monroe. Well I am biased because A.H. was so good in the Nun’s Story. But I think Audrey had inner and outer beauty whereas poor Marilyn, who had such a wretched life, was totally reliant on outer beauty.
I think I am beautiful sometimes, despite my age. 🙂 Sometimes my skin glows, and I feel really close to God and if anyone talked to me then, they might feel God’s love. But other times…🙂
I can see spiritual beauty in other men. I’m not gay. I can feel drawn by their presence as it is most likely God’s love. God’s love is different. It has a natural humility. A depth that endures.

Well, quite truthfully, I’m not attracted to a man unless he’s objectively good looking. However, even if he’s objectively good looking and turns out to have a terrible personality, no spiritual side, i.e., no inner beauty, I lose interest very fast. I assume men would feel the same about me. In fact, I’ve gone out with men, and when we discover we have little in common, our mutual attraction lessens. I can still think the guy is physically attractive, but I have no interest in dating him.

Men seem to think ONLY women need to stay in shape, but women are just as attracted to physically fit men as men are to physically fit women. Most women like good grooming, nice clothes, great hair, etc., on a man.

For me to find a man good looking, he certainly doesn’t have to be Catholic. He can even be an atheist. However, I wouldn’t date an atheist, wouldn’t want him in my life. The man would have to be spiritual, but not necessarily Catholic or a member of any church.

I feel the same way about women. Except I don’t think I’d date a non Christian. I find good catholic tick all my boxes but there aren’t that many out there

Same here. Ideally I would want a practicing Catholic guy but it’s quite rare here. And the likelihood of mutual attraction would be very slim. I might lower the bar to men who are Christian at least, but I wish I don’t have to.

I wouldn’t date an atheist, either, or even an Evangelical. I would, however, date someone whose religious views were similar to mine even if not Catholic. Even if Jewish because I still identify as a Jew even though I was baptized in the Catholic Church. (My mom was Jewish, my dad Catholic.)
