I had to vote for hard rock/heavy metal but I usually listen to more pop and soft rock.

Christian Rock and Gospel are not the same! I love Christian Rock. Sing it all the time. Gospel is like an Aria from some oity toity opera. Unless you are incredibly gifted, you can’t sing to it.

One of the best liturgical changes that resulted from Viatican II is the Church moved away from technically difficult aria’s like Mozart’s Requiem Mass to canti populari, songs that the congregation could sing so that they too had a part in the mass.

primarily CHISTIAN music, but I do enjoy most forms of music, X-cept rap (or as I call it “c.rap”)

At my Tridentine Church, at the end of Mass the congregation sings a hymn, such as “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name”. The participation of the faithful in the Mass doesn’t need to be judged by things done outwardly. Technically diffifult thingsl ike Mozart’s Requiem Mass contribute to the solemnity of what is taking place while the people “pray the Mass”.

Gospel music is nothing like opera. Gospel music is very Southern, it is either bluegrass or Southern Country “Western” sung with religious words.

Unless you are thinking of the “Grand Ole Opree” that is.
