Folk
Soul
Easy Listening

Hard rock, Metal & Alternative rock too…but I could only pick one, and that was the one with rap in it. Guess it is not a very popular chioce though…oh well. 😉

I listen to all kinds of music but mostly classic rock and not the overplayed stuff. I grew up listening to 8-tracks and you had to listen to the entire thing just to get to the songs you liked. I think most on this forum know what 8-tacks are, if you don’t your Blessed! 🙂
I still have a working 8-track and The Mammas and The Pappas sound great…so does Pink Floyd. I love that thing! 😃

I mostly listen to the classics (love Tchaikovsky and the other Russian greats, though PI Tchaikovsky is my favorite; also like baroque, Beethoven, Bach. Could listen to Pachebel all day, too).

Kind of object to that being grouped in with the Broadway music, though. I’ll listen to showtunes sometimes (especially Fiddler on the Roof), but most of those, if you take away the lyrics, the music itself isn’t something that you can listen to for hours.

I also enjoy listening to jazz from the era of Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, and other such luminaries, not so much the more modern jazz.

😛 Tunes of Sesame Street, Raffi, Disney, etc. Otherwise, I enjoy the peace!

I mostly listen to classic country from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s but also like classic rock and roll, some classical and show tunes. I will listen to anything except hard rock/heavy metal and rap.

I personally think we should be able to select multiples, because I have a pretty good balance between newer alternative, rock (though mostly the more underground stuff that has talent, like The Get Up Kids) and classic rock (lots of Grateful Dead and Van Morrison). I listen to some rap, though less than I used to since I don’t listen to anything with vulgar lyrics any more. That’s how we roll round these parts!

Gregorian Chant & Classical. Secular music is of the devil. No, I’m not trying to be funny.

I used to listen to industrial, goth, and darkwave, mostly, but not so much anymore, because after I filter out the sacriligious filth, I’m not left with much. It’s not so much a problem with the goth/darkwave, but rather with the industrial. If I liked the futurepop/synthpop side of industrial, I also wouldn’t have so much of a problem. In fact, some of the bands, like VNV Nation, are Christian, but I just never did develop a taste for the sound of it.

Lately, I’ve just been listening to different types of electronica, like deep house.

hey guys, you know what you hear if you play a country song backwards?

That was too easy…You get your wife back…you get your truck back, and your dog comes home

Oh. I actually thought he meant that there was backmasking on them like “Stairway to Heaven” 😃

FELDAMADT HRISTUS!

FALOBAN FELDAMADT!

Country music isn’t all that bad… depending, of course, on what country it’s from…

What happened to the **ETHNIC-TRADITIONAL-FOLK MUSIC CATAGORY??:dancing: **

In the Curmudgeon/ CIJS clubhouse, we are now listening to the lively yet irritating sounds of our in-house band from 2RollinStoned 😉

Techno/Trance/Rave
Folk
Country
Bluegrass
20s-80s music
Irish artists and folk like Lunasa, U2
Ethereal like Enya, Clannad, and Lisa Gerard
Epic movie soundtracks like TLOTRs soundtracks, King Arthur, Gladiator, Troy, etc.
Classical

I listen to a lot of metal (Metallica, Living Sacrifice, System of a Down), mainstream rock (Creed, Alter Bridge). I like some jazz, like Ani Defranco, Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, and I like a lot of older bands . . . Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Doobie Bros. There are so many bands I listen to . . . can’t narrow it down to one category.

It is pretty safe to exclude country as a category, though.
