iam from puerto rico so i like latin pop , merengue and salsa.i like r,martin , l.miguel etc. where i live in texas i don’t have a spanish station so iam happy listening to soft rock and oldies.

I like classical, especially Baroque era music( Bach, Handel, Corelli, Vivaldi) and 80s New Wave music on the radio.

Gerry 🙂

Movie soundtracks aren’t listed on the above poll so I didn’t vote. But I suppose you could file them under classical but you had Broadway on there too… yeech! 😉

My favorite composer is Miklos Rosa (Ben Hur, King of Kings). Also Dimitri Tiomkin (The Alamo, Guns of Navarone) and Elmer Bernstien (The Magnificent Seven, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Escape).

I used to listen to pop and rock, occasionally country. When I began my true conversion to the Church (confirmed at age 16, but did not begin to learn and grow until 2003) I quit listening to anything except Christian music or instrumental music. I can’t stand most of the songs on the pop stations anymore. My children listen to some country songs that touch my heart when they tell me about them. Thank you for the Seven Sorrows web site. I am downloading songs right now and eager to listen!

Christian Hard Rock, Ska, Heavy Metal

Nothing secular…

It is good to see that I am not the only person that listens to the Heavy Metal…I actually found some Christian stuff if that doesn’t sound too strange…bands like “Living Sacrafice” and “As I lay Dying” are two that I like…for some reason the mainstream metal bands are into all the evil stuff (yeah satinism is a terrible thing) and I despise that evil vulgar filth…
I suppose I should be listening to beautiful church music which I do sometimes, but something about that thrash stuff that is full of positive emotion and cries of repentance really get me and I like it.

Classical music is by far my favorite–to the extent that I play viola and cello in a couple of amateur symphonic orchestras, and in a chamber music group. I was surprised to see that it is the most popular choice! Probably it wouldn’t be if you separated classical from show tunes and vocals. I also like Celtic music and Mexican mariachi.

Be honest what type of music do you mostly listen to?
All of the above.

Rock, like Switchfoot, MXPX, Maroon 5, New Found Glory, etc. I also like sum Christian music like Rachael Lampa (she’s Catholic, btw!) and Switchfoot & MXPX are Christian bands. -JMJ

I like a variety of music, most of it easy stuff. I love mozart, Vivaldy, teleman, Pachabell, etc… so I put classical. But I also listen to Celtic, opera (Andre Bocceli and Charlotte Church) and I also, when I am working around the house I love classic rock. A teenager addicted to classic rock. Figure that one out. I especilaly like pink floyyd, Styx, John Mellencan, ( wrong spelling, but give me a break) adn chicago as sell as aerosmith, air supply and journey. I listen to soundtracks and I have memorized the Pirates of the Carriben soundtrack. I love christian as well. I like Rich Mullins (who is now dead) but stilll is awsome. I also like Jonathan Pierce and Jacki Vellaquez.

Folk and Christian mostly.

I also listen to classical (a lot of Bach) and some unclassifiable music (music from Cirque du Soleil, for example).

I like some of Enyas stuff… but I can hardly understand her on most of her music…but some of her stuff is nice.

With the exception of Bjork, Death & Heavy Metal & Rap…I listen to ALL types… languages and styles…lite on the Classical though…

You didn’t even list bluegrass or John Hartford, John Stewart, Loudon Wainwright III, the Kingston Trio, or even Pony Law.

I ONLY LISTEN TO RELEVANT RADIO JINGLES ESPECIALLY THAT JEFF CAVINS PROMO TUNE - IT ROCKED!

Dixieland jazz!! I couldn’t vote because modern jazz and Dixieland are not at all the same. Good ol’ Louie Armstrong jazz and all the oldies from the beginning days of traditional jazz are full of rhythm and joy. Dixieland music is HAPPY music. Come to Sacramento over Memorial weekend for the Jazz Jubilee and listen to the best traditional and Dixieland bands from around the world.

I listen to Catholic music – every thing from Latin Classics to the contemporary Catholic music – like Fr. Stan Fortuna.

I have a theory that what I listen to I am. So I am Catholic and keep the garbage out and immerse myself in Catholic Radio or Catholic music.

Why would I want to distract my soul with anything that doesn’t increase my spiritual life? I know it isn’t a sin, but could it be a deterrent to actually living my life as fully in Christ?
