I don’t like the additional mysteries and believe it should be 15 decades as was always the case as it symbolizes 150 Psalms etc.
Which mysteries traditionally were said on Thursday?

Joyful
Monday, Thursday, Saturday Joyful
Tuesday and Friday Sorrowful
Wednesday and Sunday Glorious

I absolutely love the addition of the Luminous mysteries. I love meditating on the many ways Christ is the Light of our lives.

It is an optional devotion, if you don’t care for the additional mysteries, there is no requirement to pray them.

But others have a different opinion

Oh I wasn’t trying to be hostile about it.
Everyone has a preference. I just prefer the traditional 15.

before the luminous mysteries; it depended on the liturgical season

at least, i think i remember it that way

personally, i like the luminous mysteries

although the 3rd luminous mystery has always been difficult for me to understand

I am also skeptical when changes is making on the Faith because God does not change. When Mary had entrusted the rosary to saint Dominic she told him that the rosary is 15 tens, no more, no less. If Mary found it important to add another mystery she would have done it.
In addition 4 mysteries are very long, it encourages more to recitation than meditation, and the 3rd light mystery does not correspond to a specific biblical passage that can be contemplated to draw fruit, so this is not actually a mystery.
And to answer your question, thursday is for Joyful mysteries

St John Paul added these mysteries. They describe the ministry of Jesus Christ. How could anyone not like that

Because Marie did not ask that, and it is Marie who has the patent of invention of the rosary, it is her property! and in addition JPII himself in the encyclical where he introduced the luminous mystery said that it is his private devotion and that he leaves each or each group of free prayer to add it or not!

how do you know it was not Mary who inspired JP II to pass to us the luminous mysteries?

and yes, i agree, the 3rd luminous mystery is a little problematic…

Mary said in one of her visions and in her relationship with priests, that St John Paul was very special to her.

And the Church is all about increase in knowledge wisdom and belief , as it is moved and guided by the Holy Spirit

He added them but why? Did a apparition of Mary reveal it to him to add them? If I remember correctly some guy just did them and JP2 just liked them.
So what can we all just make up any mysteries of the Rosary we feel like? Heres a new one! Let’s call it the healing mysteries.
  1. Christ converts Samaritan women
  2. Christ heals blind man
  3. Christ raises Lazarus
  4. Christ proclaims Spirit to Nicodemus
  5. Christ heals Malchus’ ear
I will say them every Monday they really always spoke to me.

We will never know. Nor does it matter. The Rosary is about meditating on the life of the Holy Family and Jesus. The Luminous mysteries are about the Ministry of Jesus and our salvation history

Repent and believe in the Good news

We can meditate on whatever we want, as long as it is in line with the intention of the Rosary

that is good, creative thinking.

at least i think it is

I AM SO CONFUSED!

I remember a priest of my parish had invented lovers mysteries , well I forgot the list of these mysteries…

but there is certainly a form that pleases Marie the most, and I think that it is the form she has left.

Mary is pleased by any prayer of the Rosary we pray, and even in trying to pray.

There are no rules to prayer of private devotions
