Even some shirt tail relatives of Hilter changed their surnane to avoid the obvious association.
What claim, exactly, was that writer making about the name Damian? He may perhaps be mixing up two different things. On the one hand, it’s an old well-established name – think of Saints Cosmas and Damian, twin brothers who were martyred in or around the year 287 (link below). On the other, the producers of The Omen and David Seltzer, who wrote the screenplay, obviously chose the name Damian because it echoes the word “demon,” producing the desired mental association in people who watch the movie. But I don’t think it’s right for Catholic parents to let themselves be bullied by Hollywood like that, to the point of deciding that Damian is no longer an acceptable baptismal name just because of a movie. He railed about the movies Damian and The Omen and asserted that the name Damien came from the word demon.
I don’t know tbh since I’m not in the writer’s head but is seemed like he was saying demons were everywhere. In the photo section of the book the was an image of a nuclear explosion and it you turn the picture sideways it looked like there was a face of a demon in the cloud. What claim, exactly, was that writer making about the name Damian?
