Excellent. Humor and enjoying playing music is a great combination. Its why I enjoy Umphrey’s McGee.

Thanks for the inspiration Caldera to write a rock song with humor. Heh. A southern rock tune. I sang, played the guitars, bass and triggered drums (toontrack software - Superior Drummer II).
Hey good job, M-Dent! I like the southern rock style. The vocals & lyrics… well, could probably use a li’l tweaking. Thanks for the inspiration Caldera to write a rock song with humor. Heh. I still have my 8-track ½” reel-to-reel but have been recording on computer for over a decade. I find it incredibly simple. I use Protools and an older version of Adobe audtion as the DAW. Guitars - too many to list. I am blessed with a cool man cave.Hey good job, M-Dent! I like the southern rock style. I’m curious what kind of equipment you use. 4-8 track recorder?, guitars?, and I’m not familiar with the drum software, or how it works. Do you trigger with drum pads, synthesizer keyboard, or computer keyboard?
I gave it a listen. There are some historic topics that European metal bands seem to become fascinated in recalling. As with many metal bands, I’m not sure they have a full grasp of actual historical facts but they do offer an intense picture of part of it. Muffled saturated guitars and powerful and subsonic drums frequencies paint a war picture as well as explosions can…Last Stand by Sabaton. It is a power metal song about the Swiss Guard’s valiant efforts to protect Pope Clement VII from mercenaries hired by the Holy Roman Empire.

I have different ways to trigger it (depending on the song); with electric drums, pads, keyboards, or a drummer performance via midi file. I mainly do it with pads or midi. It is so much more a preferable method than mic’ing an actual drum kit and being wary of the time one is playing the drums (my wife and neighbors appreciate that). With the new drum sampled software available it can all be played/recorded on headphones – anytime night or day.
