AJV:
I’m not changing anything-it is just that all documents that I have looked at- Cer. Epis. , the Rituale, the Instr. Clem.,- all do not specify that it has to be on the main altar. Some of them say “high altar or another”
Did you miss Sonny’s temper tantrum AJV? i.e., “???” ?

You had the audacity to post facts, and that doesn’t bode well, as you noticed.

Even if there isn’t a text that explicity outlines that it be at the center of a High Altar…Tradition has it there…is that authoritative enough? Or simply something to be overlooked?
I’m not advocating removing the tabernacle or anything. It was purely in response to the statement that the NO doesn’t require the tabernacle in the center-neither does the Traditional rubrics AFAIK.
It is much like the question how both Masses do not tell the priest which direction to face: but each direction was the merely the prevalent custom pre-and post 1960’s. Many of the avant-garde were able to celebrate Mass is complete conformity with rubrics existantant at the time.

(thought of this one because of your comment on the tabernacle)
It was also very possible to find side altars for the reservation of the Blessed Sacrament. For example, a lot of Pugin’s churches were designed that way. Tradition doesn’t mandate anything: though it would to retain popular custom in the matter.

Well I guess I did miss it. Not to be rude to either you or dumspirospero or anyone (really, Imean it Joysong:) ), but perhaps if people on all sides were a little calmer the Traditional forum would use up less bandwidth. Half the space is wasted with more accusations and counter-ones of insults, blasphemies, or whatever than you can shake a stick at.

I wonder now how all Cardinals feel. Is the problem at the higher levels within the Vatican Netmel(name removed by moderator)? Some feel as you do and others feel differently and this is way it is taking so long to get things settled?
Cardinal Arinze is the head of Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

There is no higher authority than him except B16.

Or if people would stop coming in stating things to specifically tick Traditionalists off.

Personally, I think the forum is a mistake unless Traditionalist have a say in it.
