I’d go a lot farther. The Catechism is a useful summary of the faith, primarily intended for the purpose of—wait for it—catechism. But a map of India is not India, still less a simplified map written for people who’ve never visited India. A lot of lay Catholics today have elevated the Catechism to a status it simply does not deserve.
