What Would You Most Like Pope Francis To Do?

No, it requires that they be dedicated and moved by their faith. Trying to force people to be either of these things is an impossibility.
 
Some good folks have mentioned things such as “hate speech” and asked whether we as Catholics, really want to “set any one to flight” (using my original words). In humility and in view of the state of “auto-demolition” ( to use Pope Paul’ VI’s term) that, in many respects, the Church has been experiencing and that we have been witnesses to over the past half century or so, I can only refer these folks to the passages from St. Paul’s 2nd letter to Timothy, in which he talks of a time when " they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables." (2 Timothy 4: 3-4); Pope Pius XII’s references to those who “reduce to a meaningless formula the necessity of belonging to the True Church in order to gain eternal salvation” and “errors, (that) it is clear, have crept in among certain of Our sons who are deceived by imprudent zeal for souls or by false science” in his Encyclical “Humani Generis”; and the words of the great Catholic philosopher and thelogian, Dr. Dietrich von Hildebrand, who states that, “One can not make peace at the cost of truth and especially not at the cost of divine truth. This would simply be an offense to God” ( “The Charitable Anathema”, (193), pg 2). We must love our enemies, ascommanded by Christ Jesus, however, we still must recognize that they are, in fact, our enemies. So yes, I would say that, in certain circumstances, we do want to set anyone to whom we could apply any of these desriptions to, “to flight”.

All monotheistic religions I know of call their god something like “the one”, “the one being resp. one who is”, “the god/deity”, “the all”, etc. Only polytheistic religions need to name their gods. Ever noticed that parents that have only one boy often simply call him “son”?

As for women priests; it should never happen. As a woman I never understand why women are not happy being women. God gave us a very important job. To raise the next generation. It is women who shape and mold their children. If we raise them with the goal of one day being in heaven then we are in charge of the future leaders, priests, sisters, inventors, etc. If we do a good job the world will be a better place. If we do a miserable job and impart only selfish values we will have a bleak future. Why worry about being a priest when we have enough on our plates? Mary is the example God gave to women. She was a mother and took care of her family. If it is good enough for the Blessed Mother, it is good enough for me. I take pride in trying to follow the example set by Mary.

I would also like to see him clean house. Stop the liturgical abuses. Superman chasubles and water guns with holy water. Rollerskating angels, circus music with 1/2 dressed men swinging from seats with a woman holding the book of the gospels entering the church, and on and on. He also needs to crack down on those Catholics who openly profess to support abortion, gay marriage, etc. Several politicians in the US come to mind right away.

I would love to see Vac. II craziness tossed out. That did more to drive away church attendance, vocations, etc.

Funny when I got to EF mass, the line for confession it to the back of the church and you have about a 1/2 hour wait. Go to confession at NO mass and in a 1/2 time only my family made use of the sacrament. Like my son said though, why would anybody go to confession when they are never told there is hell, when they are never told what they are doing is wrong. That everyone gets to heaven, that Jesus forgives anything and keep on doing what you do, because no matter what, you are going to heaven. So why confess? What have you done wrong? Apparently not a thing. Sad but true it would seem.

I hope Pope Francis brings greater understanding of true social justice, especially for people like me. I rebel against people who claim they understand the true nature of justice. They all seem to come from a liberation theology. I tune them out immediately. It seems that it is based on feelings. There are at least two sides to every issue. I rarely hear responsibility as the other side of the coin. There are many who can help themselves, to the best of their ability. That would leave more to share and help the truly poor and destitute. Here in the United States, there are very few truly poor people. My friends from China and India tell me there are no poor people here in The US.

In my arrogance, somewhere in my mind, I think that all the good in my life is hard earned on my part. Some are. Many are blessings. Then I think I deserve them because I’m just so wonderful, they have been bestowed upon me. It is a weakness in my character. I pray Pope Francis will be instructive in this area. It is a weakness not only for me, but by many others I know. Plus I love his incredible humility. It is a shining example of giving up all, and following Christ.
 
I want Pope Francis do do whatever God intends for him to do. It’s wonderful that he obviously has a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin. She’ll help quide him through the difficult times ahead. He also seems a man of prayer, of course, and he’ll no doubt seek the will of God. God bless Pope Francis!
 
I would love to see him mandate the CDF to begin a grand inquisition. We need to burn some heretics!

Joking aside I would like him to pray for us, first and foremost.
 
From what I have read it appears that Pope Francis is a humble man who loves the poor and lives his life without all the frills of his office.

My hope is that he will continue in the footsteps of John Paul II and Benedict in welcoming Anglicans who are now in the Ordinariate and others who are contempleting becoming Catholic through this open door. My concern is that he listens to Benedict and not those Bishops who are against the Ordinariate. The reason for my concern is from what many have posted about his dislike for the EF. Although the EF and the Ordinariate are two different entitities, they have a common belief in the reverence and traditions long held in the Church and both have had sturggles in many dioceses if the Bishop is against them.

One can see this from the past with the Anglican Use parishes which were denied in many dioceses over the past 30 years and the denial of parishes celebrating the EF in many dioceses.

Also that he will clean up the “wolves” as Benedict has alluded to within the Church. Pope Francis has a difficult journey ahead of him and he will need many prayers to accomplish all that is needed to bring the Church out of many of the problems it faces in today’s world.

I believe that the Holy Spirit has chosen Pope Francis for a specific reason and as Catholics we must stand firmly with him as he is our Holy Father and the leader of Christ’s Holy Church.

kneeling and communion on the tongue,as for someone saying at the last supper it was probably in the hand , i believe no one but the consecrated hands of a priest should touch the sacred host ,which the apostles were
