I checked ā€œotherā€ because I have a large decal of Our Lady of Guadalupe on my front windshieldā€“it is gold and I can see through it also! It is awesome, and creates her shadow on my dashboard when it is sunny out! I used to keep a Rosary on my rearview mirror but too many of them have been caught somehow and broken so I no longer keep one there. I sure love my decal though!

Letā€™s seeā€¦the sun visor has St. Michael cliped to itā€¦the middle of the dash has a hump/bump thingy (where the clock is located)-on the highest part of the mound is a crucifix, to the left of it is Our Lady of Grace, to the right of it is St. Francis (of Assisi)ā€¦hanging from the rear view mirror (on a necklace chain)ā€¦a miraculous medal, St. Christopher medal, a Cross, two different St. Anthony medals, another medal with Mary on it, and one more that I am drawing blank on. Rosary hangs below that(only because itā€™s illegal to have things hanging from the rearview mirror and I HAVE been pulled over because of the rosary hanging there, but not the necklace chainā€¦go figure).

The rear of my car has a fish symbol with JESUS inside of it.

Hopefully soon, my license plate will have SHJ BVM on it.

We have a rosary. My wife didnā€™t like me sticking a rosary up there until she lost hers and had to use our ā€œemergencyā€ rosary on the rear view mirror.

I once saw a bumper sticker that said Fā€¦You, You Fā€¦ing Fā€¦

If people can display that sort of thing on their cars then we should be all the more eager to display as much goodness as we can.

Oh, and it is not illegal in Michigan to have something hanging from oneā€™s rear view mirror unless it impedes oneā€™s view.
Such as the giant reflective crystals or full-size CDs that some people hang from their rearviews. I donā€™t know if their view is impeded, but mine certainly is if the sunlight hits them in just the right way and reflects the light right into my eyes (has happened on more than one occasion).

Back on topicā€¦I have a beautiful rosary with beads made from crushed rose petals. I canā€™t remember which cloistered nuns made this, it was a gift from my best friend many years ago. At one point it actually made my car smell like roses. Now it simply reminds me to pray and behave myself on the road. šŸ˜‰

** Gasparilla pirate beads. I use to have a shrunken head but it deteriorated and fell apart.**

Right nowā€¦ nothing. I have a St. Christopher medal that I would like to hand there but I heard that he is now a benched Saint (no longer a saint) ā€¦has anyone else heard this???

Nothing to distract me. Besides I hate kitsch and I prefer the minimalist decorating style soā€¦ things like that would just mean clutter to me. But I always have my purse beside me, and inside it there is always a rosary. Good enough.

SPOKENWORD:
I believe it is against the law to have anything dangling from your rear view mirror.
You mean my pink fuzzy dice are ILLEGAL??? :bigyikes:

Just kidding. šŸ˜‰

Crucifix and a head of Jesus, just as a constant reminder of Whom I belong to.

Saint Christopher prayer card on the dash board with a medal, rosary in the rearview mirror, a visor clip that says ā€œnever drive faster than your guardian angel can flyā€ and a prayer card with Jesus on the other visor and holy water in the glove box. guess i should have mentioned that im accident prone in the car, i need all the help and protection i can get, and God forbid im ever in another accident there will be no mix up that i am a Catholic and they need to call a priest!šŸ˜‰

any idea where i can get one of those rose petal rosaries? a lady i teach with was talking about it and i ve never even seen one, they sound beautiful!

Dear TarAshly,

You can find Rose Petal Rosaries in many Catholic Shops around the US. If you canā€™t find one near you, try Ebay or somewhere on the net (a quick Google search gave me a ton of hits google.com/search?hl=en&q=rose+petal+rosaries )

Just donā€™t be fooled by the higher priced ones - I have a few and I never paid more than $15 on them.

Responding to the thread question:

My car: I have a small rosary (1 mistery - 10 beads + crucifix + Rosa Mystica medal) on the mirror that I use every day when going home from work. On the rear window, I have a rosary decal, with the Virgin Mary on the center.

My wifeā€™s: we have a full Rosa Mystica rosary with medal on the mirror and a beautiful OL of Fatima on the rear window.

When I was growing up, my cousins had a St. Anthony (or was it St. Christopher?) medal on the dashboard.

My wifeā€™s car has a little prayer bead/Crucifix thing hanging from the rearview mirror. My truck doesnā€™t have anything, but I want something.

What do you have?

What do you suggest?
In my case, I currently hang my string necklace to which my antibacterial hand cleaner is attached; I have also hung my stethescope there, too. I use them every day in my work as a nurse. I used to hang a rosary from it, but they kept breaking. And for about 10 yrs I had a pin of Jesus the Divine Mercy either hanging on the rosary or pinned to my visor. My mom used to have a St. Christopher medal on her visor, and my grandmother had a magnetized plastic statue of the Blessed Mother on the dashboard of her 1964 Galaxy 500! šŸ™‚

In my pickup truck, I have a rosary, hanging from the mirror, a visor clip of the Blessed Mother and another of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, on my visor, and a palm cross above my visor. My St.hristopher medal, is in a small storage thingy (it is so small that I have no idea what itsā€™ purpose is) below the steering wheel.
