Hi, To Seek,

I have been reading your posts with real interest. In many instances, at least in my opinion, you have been voicing a protestant view of what Catholics believe - as opposed to a Catholic view of what Catholics believe. This approach is doomed to failure - like trying ot build a house on sand.

Several posts have suggested attending a Catholic catechical program. While this may sound strange, let me tell you that if you are sincere in your interest about what it is about the Catholic Chruch that has you coming back - you really need to go to the source. If you engage in reading the opinions of non-Catholics rather then the actual doctrine of the CC, you will always be left with conflict.

There is no doubt about it - Christ died for our sins. And, you know what… that same Christ built His Church (and, that would be the Catholic Church) on Peter. That same Christ gave Peter the authority to bind and lose on heaven and earth - and that same Chrsit promised that the Holy Spirit would guide the Christ’s Church so that the Gates of Hell would not prevail. Trying to wrap one’s understanding around these mysteries is like trying to contain the ocean in a cup. What is really needed is that if we believe Christ then we believe all that He told us. This is really a Faith issue and not an understanding issue. St. Augustine’s prayer was to have more Faith so as to improve his understanding - not to have more understanding so as to improve his Faith.

Coming to terms with the teaching of Christ’s Church is the same as coming to terms with Christ Himself. If you really believe that He would never deceive us - then believing in the Chruch He established on Peter is the only legitimate response we can make.

God bless,

Tom
Hi guys, thanks for your feedback. When I look over my time spent in Protestant Churches I learned some good things, but I missed a whole lot of stuff in the RC so even with the doubts and questions I raise here the road has wound back to the RC. Overtime I hope I get to understand more fully what I really didnt understand in the first place, so the journey contines. To seek.👍

Hi, MariaG.,

What a really wonderful post… 🙂 Thank you for the links.

God bless

Tom
Welcome:)

Now if I can just figure out how to do all that links and stuff with my smart phone I will be on a roll!

Thanks Tom, Youve got me thinking about what it was that made me leave in the first place . I know I got a few challenges along the way from protestant friends and I remeber I did start questioning the faith I had particularly when everybody seemed to be doing everything by rote and not by conviction. Reading the Bible through a few times I realised I was good at being religious and all that, but not good at being a follower of Christ, so began my journey into Protestant Churches. I left because for me something was missing and after a few setbacks within those Churches, I knew I had to go back to where I started. That doesnt mean I dont have a lot of questions to ask because I do and I am taking my time because I became unchurched due to disillusionment along the way. Thanks for your comments. To Seek.🎉

This one is umm… Yeah… That is one seriously scary site.
Well.
Apparently the Pyramid from the Image of the Divine Mercy is Concrete proof that we’re connected in some way to Masons, Scientology, Mormonism, and Nickelodeon.
And then it goes on a LONG rant of how the Illuminati control everything from Children’s television stations to the Russian Orthodox Church. (As evidence by the Skull on the Russian Priest’s Cross, you know the one that represents Adam, who was buried at Calvary)
And then It somehow (Beyond my understanding) Connects all that to the “Blasphemy” of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
What Does the Creepy Pyramid Image Mean?
Mary Faustina Kowalska was a poor Satan possessed mystic! Allegedly, Jesus appeared to Faustina and asked her to reproduce His image and show it to the world. This further proves that the Catholic Church is of Satan, because the Bible says more than once: No image worship! Exodus 20:4,5 couldn’t be any clearer. Exodus 34:13 states, “But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves.” It is a sin to show devotion to any image or icon.
What is the real agenda behind this lie? Why pray to yet another image, a “new” icon? Jesus told Faustina to DISPLAY THE IMAGE IN HER OWN CONVENT AND THEN THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. And this is interesting because, well, why would Satan want to promote Jesus? Why is it important for Satan that one billion Catholics (and preferably also the non-Catholics) see this painting? Are you guessing Satan’s true motive? You see, most people have a good memory, and we memorize things automatically, even when we don’t want to. The images remain in our mind. So we see this New Age painting of Jesus and automatically we remember it for life, it’s somewhere in our mind. And then one day when the man of sin, the antichrist, finally arrives, people will readily accept him. They’ll think to themselves, "I’ve seen him somewhere before, where can it be? And then they will finally remember! That’s it! It’s Faustina’s Jesus! It’s him! They will compare the face of the man of sin and Faustina’s Jesus, and they will be almost identical. One billion Catholics will recognize the man of sin as Jesus, and be tremendously deceived. This may be the explanation for this New Age image of Jesus that is now being shown all over the world.
Why do the Catholics want us to memorize this face? What is their plot? Obviously, this is not just another Catholic image, or icon. This one is special, and it is shown all over the world. Last year I read a lot of Catholic articles in Spanish, Russian, French, even Polish, and I would see Faustina’s Jesus almost all the time. Pope John Paul II loved this painting, and Faustina’s dream finally came true: this painting is now shown all over the world. The IMAGE OF DIVINE MERCY is not just another cheap Catholic image, this one is truly special, this is an image of someone who will deceive a lot of people in the future. Maybe it’s of the future Antichrist, or maybe of someone else, but we know that this painting was done to deceive in a big way.

Above: The illuminati pyramid is abundantly clear in the Catholic image of DIVINE MERCY.

Notice the Illuminati “Skull and Bones” Emblem on the cross

Seriously, is there something that is not controlled by the Illuminati or the Jesuits? 🤷

I’m not entirely convinced the Jesuits actually exist. I believe they were made up by Anti-Catholics to make us look bad. 😃 😛

Eh!? But who’s been running that high-ranked Catholic university I attend!? I’ve been scammed!! DX (;):p)

This one must take the prize as the biggest anti-Catholic whopper but I could be wrong. How do these people come up with this rubbish? :whacky:

This post has to be near the top to win prize as the “Craziest Anti-Catholic Whopper” but I am probably wrong.

Have any of you noticed that when you reply to a post and scroll down to additional options, there is a pyramid on the right hand side of the title bar? Is this a secret sign? :bigyikes:

I just ran into one yesterday that made my jaw drop.
Met a very articulate and attractive woman on a secular dating site. She is a school teacher and an ex Catholic who is now a member of the ever expanding universal neo-secular denomination known as “spiritual but not religious” - what I call the new Secular Catholicism. She is heavy into yoga too apparently so I asked her if she was just into it for health/discipline or also the philosophy which I warned her could open up demonic influences by “emptying oneself of all desire”. So got very defensive and assured me that she was more spiritual than most all Catholics. I then asked her if she would ever consider coming back to the Catholic Church? It was “oh no! no way! The Catholic Church has so much baggage and corruption and false spirituality”. I asked for an example and she came up with some insane conspiracy theory that sounds like it came out of a Zionist propaganda PR paper or something.

She claims the Vatican stole or confiscated hundreds of millions of dollars of Nazi gold from the Jews during WWII and used that to fund their evil empire! I countered by asking her if she knew of the 10’s of thousands of Jews the Vatican saved by giving them false baptismal papers and in attempts to hide and relocat them. She claims that was not enough and that the Vatican was in bed with the Nazis!

I then got her to at least admit by logical argument that she herself was was not infallable but she was still nonetheless “100 %sure” that everything the Catholic church stands for is wrong and that God is just fine with a “pick and choose” “Cafeteria” spirituality that does not need any religion. She also admitted that she thinks marriage is just for those who want to have babies so they get a legal name but others are free to live with whoever they want for as long as they want then find replacements when the relationship starts to get too dependent or stale. It’s depressing to run into this all the time…

I almost had to just terminate all dialog with her since she was so bigoted and anti-Catholic. She actually told me that she could barely stand to even be around Catholics since they are all so hypocritical and ignorant about universal spiritual matters that she was enlightened to through her yoga experience. But she could not tell me who founded yoga and if it has produced anyone known to be in heaven.

Anymore, its like we are living in a completely heathen non-Christian country here in America.

I did google “Nazi Gold” as she suggested I do and found a reference that tries to implicate the Franciscans and the Vatican Bank and secret Swiss bank accounts and a declassified US Intelligence report called the Bigelow Report (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_gold). I can only find allegations but no hard evidence that anything remotely close to what she claimed ever existed.

Where do people get this “stuff” from??? I feel like there is a massive world campaign, especially of late, to discredit the Catholic Church and demonize it.

At some point it is impossible to appeal to reason with people and one almost has to treat them as mentally ill or insane.

Indeed.

The “spiritual but not religious” paradigm is a way, in my opinion, for those who want the good “feelings” that come from acknowledging there is a God, but don’t want to obligate themselves to change their lives or behavior. 🤷

The weirdest accusation leveled to me (which was really not an accusation, more of just a belief), was that Catholics don’t read the Bible in Church or anywhere else, we simply read the newspaper . . . and this is no joke guys. This person truly believed that Catholics read the newspaper instead of the Bible.

But one thing to keep in mind is that this certain someone believed (still believes?) that Martin Luther King Jr. started the Lutheran denominations . . . oh, and this person has been alive for over two decades. It’s just plain sad.

That one made me snicker. 😃

I’ve encountered a man on another forum who makes the charge that the Christian God is a monster and that our Jesus is the monster’s assigned exterminator. He also claims that Christianity seeks to destroy the diversity of nature based faiths and has caused the death of tens of millions.

About Catholics in particular he says that we have replaced animal sacrifice with a human sacrifice and that our ritual of symbolically eating the flesh and drinking the blood of a human being disgusts him.

Ah, a liberal. ;)😛

He claims that he is a Paleo-Pagan and that he is a member of a clan who have maintained their cultural identity and escaped Christian persecution for all these years. They are eagerly awaiting the decline of Christian influence in America and celebrate it’s decline in Europe.

I once had an elderly man tell me that he went to a funeral at a Catholic Church, & that instead of preaching, the priest asked everybody to:bigyikes: come forward and:bigyikes: play dominoes.:doh2:
:hypno:Have you ever:ehh: laughed out loud in an :takeoff:old guy’s:rotfl: :ouch: face???

I’m still trying to figure out what kind of cheap drugs he was on…
