What's with all the anti women threads recently??

I went to college, joined the workforce in a male dominated industry, and when I go to the doctor he tells me what’s wrong with me. He doesn’t leave the room to explain it to my father or husband.

I note that you assert that Feminists ‘apparently’ view passages as mysoginistic as well. At least in terms of their ‘Face Value.’ This may indeed be accurate as well as I do not really have any high hopes for Feminists to actually examine closely any serious exegesis of Scriptures.

I am curious however… Could you please explain to me, I mean I reallllllllllyy want to know… why… a Catholic should become a Feminist in view of the attested to **hatred **of the beloved Scriptures by Feminists (Note: not Radical Feminists) :confused:

I brought up an anti-male thread a couple months ago. Some posters there denied the anti-male-ness of the comments quoted in the OP. So what does all this prove? 🤷

I said radical feminism, not feminism in general. Feminism has done a lot of of good in the world and I agree with you. But, radical feminism had taken over now. It had turned mainstream feminism into another party in the mess that is identity politics. Hence, what I said about radical feminism not solving anything but whining and complaining.

It must be because control over women is the birthright of men; so by women wanting to act as responsible moral agents, they are depriving men of their birthright, and thus are controlling men.

Purely speculation, but so far it’s the only thing I can think of that explains the irrational reactions to the fiminists on here.

I’ve seen how it demonizes masculinity through the media portrayal of men especially fathers. Back then, there’s “Father knows best”. Now, we have the likes of Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin.
 
No kidding! Just look at your average TV commercial how men are portrayed!

ALL feminism was “radical feminism” in the era of its initiation. Suffrage? Radical. Working? Radical. I could go on.

Just two quick points:
  1. Both of those shows were created by men.
  2. Both of the moms in the show are stay at home moms!
And those shows aren’t anti masculinity. They are anti decency. Really, do not try to use them to figure out your role in society.

Well, obviously that’s not where you go for male role models on TV. There are far too many movies to name with strong, admirable male characters, but if you want to restrict yourself to TV, litearally any of the reality shows (along the lines of Pawn Stars, anything on Food Network, Billy the Exterminator, Dog the Bounty Hunter), all have great male characters.

Note: he says “I know a lot of…”

This does not mean “feminists” in general hate scripture. Of course, we all know this is impossible considering all the perfectly good Christian people here who are feminists.

That would be the same as me saying “I know a lot of Catholics who support Obama…”

And someone else responding with “Well, at least it is honest of you to admit Catholics like Obama.”

It’s completely wrong.

But you know that.

It’s still a repercussion from sitcoms of the 80s like Full House, where the mothers were absent. Still lame shows like Family Guy are a disrespect to all people, not just men.
 
I read somewhere that women are the spawn of satan and only good for ****ing… sorry but for the life of me i cant find a source… 😦

I disagree with you. Before radicalism had any plans for takeovers, mainstream feminism was rather sane. Yes, suffrage and radical feminism were revolutionary ideas in the early 20th century, but these were hardly radical. The paradigm shift happened when radical feminism came along and took over the mainstream feminist movement. However, there are rebellions within the mainstream feminist movement now. In mainstream feminism, a feminist with conservative values is treated like an outcast. With the radical takeover of mainstream feminism, it’s all about conformity rather than diversity. A good example of this is Gwen Landolt. She is a feminist, but not a radical one.
