Pink Floyd is self-absorbed druggie head crapola music
Then I guess that makes me a “self-absorbed druggie head crapola”?? Floyd is some of the best music made. Listen to the Dark Side of the Moon album, and the songs Fearless & Remember a Day.

Cestus,

for some reason, i always figured you to be more of a VanHalen type or maybe some of the modern rock like Creed.
i always figured you’d be the priest that listened to the cool music that the kids listened to.

I grew up listening to a lot of Classic Rock. It will always be a big part of who I am, but I enjoy so many other types of music that it’s hard to pick out just one type to call my favorite.

I listen to most types altough I do not like Punk, top 40 stuff (generally), R&B, Funk… well maybe I do not listen to most stuff…

I am kind of odd, one minuteI will listen hardcore heavey metal bands such as Killswitch Engage, Mudvayne… But then I will put on some Irish Punk (Flogging Molly is the only punk band I like), then bam I am listening to the beautiful music of Pavarotti or Bartoli, or I will throw on some tradional Irish music, pop in some classic Doors, or The Who, even Jefferson Airplane, the list can really can go I do not limit myself to one type.

I listen to almost everything. CCM, oldies, classic rock, 80’s hair bands, country, sometimes I am forced to listen top 40 & progressive (at work). Love the southern rock, Black Foot, Skynyrd, Allman Brothers. My all time fave has got to be AEROSMITH!👍

Whatadeecee, first of all Howdy from a fellow Odessan.

Now about Christian music, have you ever heard Beethoven’s (SP) Missa Solemnis, Mozart’s or Faure’s Requiems. Bach’s B minor Mass, Handels Messiah, or “For All The Saints” by Ralph Vaughn Williams? All classical and all Christian. And specifically Catholic unlike most of the “christian contempory” which is nearly all fundamentalist.

I know this sounds like a oxi-moron but i swear its not

Christian metal

Bands like demon hunter, haste the day, dead poetic, xao, etc.

Also hard rock is cool

Bands like Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, Modest Mouse, Red hot chili peppers

And christian rock

Relient k, Audio Adrenaline

Chances are most people havent heard of these guys but thats nothing new

Where’s the POLKA MUSIC?! :dancing:
(heehee)
I love classical music: Chopin, Mozart (of course), Vivaldi etc.
I am also a fan of good old Rock-n-Roll: Led Zep, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eagles, Roxy Music, some “Hair bands” like Van Halen.
I love Soul Music: Al Green, Aretha.
This was a tough poll for me, I like so many different styles (not a big fan of the pop scene though: all groups sound the same, don’t play their own instruments, too engineered etc)

None of the above!

The music of my choice is ethnic, specifically ‘balkan and mediterranian’. My favorite music, I’d have to say, is Greek.
That would be followed by Macedonian and Serbian.
I also listen to Croatian, Bulgarian, Israeli, Gypsy (Rom), etc.

One of my hobbies is ethnic/Balkan dancing, so my musical taste has a lot to do with dancing. However, I just enjoy listening to it. It’s absolutely top on my list.

Relient K is one of my favorite bands. Five Iron Frenzy is up there too with The Supertones. For any of the Relient K fans out there they should have a new CD out this fall. I wonder if it will top their last CD.

and that neo-nazi punk ****
Fraggle, just to let you know, punk and neo-nazi is like catholic and pro-death…doesn’t mix. Punks are very much against the neo-nazi movement. If you can take it, watch the movie SLC punk, it explains the punk movement in America, very well. Neo-nazi’s listen to death metal.

I am a huge fan of all rock except for whatever is being played today…some of the new bands coming out are so bad because record companies are just signing them for no reason to make a quick buck.

I love classics like Jimi, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Procol Harem, the Doors, Janis Joplin, the Band, The Guess Who, the Beatles, the rolling stones etc.

I love grunge like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Silverchair and Bush (neo-grunge).

I love gothic stuff like Bauhaus, Tapping the Vein, Nine Inch Nails, Tool and A perfect Circle and the tea party. (not really goth but close)

All these bands are awesome!!

Pink Floyd is self-absorbed druggie head crapola music
Yup, well I think I will just go throw on a Pink Floyd album, smoke a few joints, turn on my lava lamp and trip out thinking how awesome I am!!!

Just Joking, you should really listen to Great Gig in the Sky off Darkside of the Moon…great vocal stuff!!

Character Zero:
…I also love jambands - especially Phish…
i thought so when i first saw your name. when i’d first heard the song i didn’t realize it was phish. (and college stations dont always tell you what they played cuz the kids all know.) then we went to an alpine valley show and they cranked out this incredible godzilla version that still resonates in my body several years later.
too bad about the rain this weekend (posted 8/15).

oh yeah, about the poll; since i like any kind of music as long as its good there was no point in voting, i’d have selected all of them.

favorite artists would be dylan, bowie, bach and beethoven.
i thought a most impressive statement about the continuing impact of ludwig was that the cd was specifically designed so that you could fit all of his 9th on 1 disc.

anywho, thanks for listening, love and peace, terry

My two favorite things to listen to are Queen…and Amy Grant.
My husband always laughs at this.

Scout :tiphat:

I didn’t see Christian Music listed so I’m posting my response here:D

I love rock music!! Like Switchfoot, MXPX, Maroon 5, New Found Glory, etc. I also like Rachael Lampa, a really good Catholic singer, even though she’s not rock. 😃
