I was just confused. Your post mentioned leeks by name, but not daffodils. What’s the significance of connecting leeks (a terrible vegetable 😠) with daffodils (a lovely flower 😀) in Wales?

Do orchids have a scent ? I’ll definetly be having a closer inspection next time I see them in plant nursaries,in the public gardens and look for all those funny little monkeys,doves ,ballerinas etcetera!!
 
Yes they do.

One of the more familiar orchid scent is vanilla, which comes from the vanilla orchid. Now I don’t know if the flower itself has the scent or is it just the vanilla bean the fruit that does.
