Oh I like that colour :slightly_smiling_face:I have the blue and a pale pink ,not so keen on the pale one.

I’m not sure.It was in this garden before I came,and has a nice rich fruity ,florally scent .The flowers are usually more closed .
 
I’m jealous.

I used to have a large rose garden back in Hawaii.

I chose roses that were especially fragrant.

I miss it. :cry:
 
How beautiful 🙂 The climate,the soil,the range of plants you could have grown.
I’ts a struggle often to grow things where I live.
My mother is waiting for the rain,there isn’t water for the garden and the roses are just holding on…some brown leaves and no flowers for some time.They have received about 46ml this year so far.

The first rose I remember was one under the front window of my grandparent’s house , a Dorothy Perkins .

After a bit of Googling I’ve learned that ‘Dorothy Perkins’ was the first rose named after a person . Founded in 1872 Jackson and Perkins Company is an American company that cultivates roses . A foreman Alvin Miller was directed to develop a special rose new to the rose market. His first success, introduced in 1901, was the Dorothy Perkins rose, named for Charles Perkins’ granddaughter Dorothy.
