Carnations

That’s one of my favourite flowers! It got it’s name because it’s the first flower to bloom after a fire. It’s also a plant of the North American Rockies. You’ve never seen one in real life have you? 😜

Do you mean the Fireweed @tad ?

Also known as the rosebay willowherb .

Maximilian Sunflower. Unlike other sunflowers it is a perennial.

Ooh, I must get some of those! I wonder if my deer will like them? 😉

Deer usually do not bother them much, unless they finish off my hostas first. 😀 squirrels do not like them at all, but the birds sure love them
They tend to be a bit top heavy when in full bloom and a good storm can knock them about.

Are these mums?
Yes , from the family Aizoaceae , so she will be Mrs Aizoaceae .

But like many members of this family, she is characterized by long-lasting flower heads , so I suppose that means she needn’t go to the hair dressers very often . 🙃

I think these are a different family of flower, more like a Livingstone Daisy ,rather than 'mum’s" or Chrysanthemums.I wasn’t sure for a while what ‘mum’s’ where when I was in the States…then it clicked 🙂
Chrysanthemums are the chosen potted flower to give our mum’s on Mother’s Day here in Australia as they are in full bloom in May 🙂
They are great because they can go into the garden and keep flowering for years ,although they tend to revert back to a more wild form.
