On my drive to the doctor I saw a lot of beautiful zinnias. To me they are the flower of summer.

While not necessarily the most beautiful flower, I was happy to see this one on my walk this morning. It means the heat of summer is nearly a memory, and autumn is on the way here, with Halloween and pumpkin-spiced everything!

Then there’s these flowers growing in pots outside my condo. Not sure what they are… something tropical.

Do you know @Peeps , I actually stopped the car last year and dug up wild chicory roots to plant in my garden because I just love that shade of blue ! There was one here when we bought the place ,coming up every Summer for years and I missed it when it finally died.

It has a similar flower to both chicory and dandelion ,I guess it’s the same family perhaps?

Larkspur… when you look closely you can see a little bunny’s face…

We used to blow the seeds off dandelions , and for some unknown reason that activity told us the time .

But our mothers told us to leave them alone because of the English folk about dandelions . They were given the name piss-a-bed , and indeed the equivalent contemporary French pissenlit refers to the strong diuretic effect of the plant’s roots .

Dandelion and Burdock is a nice soft drink - - - - - - - - - -
