The more I look at weeds the more I am convinced that God makes the best gardener .

Fields of Silverleaf Nightshade

This brings to mind the neglected rose bushes growing in abandoned gardens and graveyards. They look hardy and healthy with no one to prune or water them, yet they thrive.

Thanks for the link Milt ! On a driving trip from St Louis to New Orleans I was taking notice of the jungly look along the way, quite amazing to see how high those vines were growing! I really liked the Magnolias all the way down too 🙂

Do you remember the “Bonny Babies Competitions” ?

My mum used to object to them . She said , “All babies are beautiful.”

I’d say the same about flowers .

Peach blossom .

Here in the U.S., Magnolias are usually associated with the southern states, but there are large two magnolia trees in the front yard of my mom’s house. They were there when my parents bought the house 63 years ago, and have always seemed fully grown to me. I often climbed them as a kid, and these days I tend to them, pruning away any dead branches and making sure they’re watered with the rest of the yard.

One of my favorites is a Dogwood Tree in full bloom.

Dogwoods are beautiful 😃 I tried growing one a few years ago but the hot wind and Summer were unkind and it died.I had planted it on the coolest side of the house .
I’m really glad to see the three peonies are just appearing out of the soil now …I wonder if they will flower this year? They are about 3 years old .

Is this some form of wild rose?

The leaves and blossoms remind me of wild roses.

@Greenfields . I’m near the end of my list of weeds . 😉

The name definitely fits the flower? Does it have a nice aroma?
Not that I’ve detected.

Here’s it’s cousin the Mexican Cigar or Firecracker plant. I’ve got a large, old fountain planted with both of these species of cuphea.
