So are you now saying that god is “nothing” and therefore god is eternal?

God is claimed to be the prime mover, the uncaused cuase. God IS claimed to have come from absolutely nothing. Applynig this attribute of god being eternal is just the theists way of trying to avoid admitting that god is claimed to have come from absolutely nothing.
What is the cause of God? What moves a primary mover? How do you substantiate this ‘so called’ claim that God had a beginning?

absolute nothingness would be a changeless state that couldn’t ever be. Obviously absolute nothingness doesn’t exist.

Everything observed so far has a beginning a middle and an end. This observation is still a hot scientific item of controversy. Why? ecause it implies that something that has no begininng or end exists.

If everything observed so far has a beginning a middle and an end how does this lead to an opposite conclusion that something exist that has no begininng or end?

Also, what makes you think this something eternal is god? How do you substantiate this?

Can you offer evidence that something that begins has no cause? If not, then that is how one concludes that something that has no beginning must exist if everything observed does.

That the source of all that is would also be inconcievably great substantiates that existence uncreated and without beginning would inherently be God and that only what God wills to exist will exist.😃 To steer us back into the subject.

So you are saying that one can conclude something is true because there is no evidence that it is true. Interesting.

Philosophical proofs stand or fall by offering evidence that cannot be refuted. That something that begins must have a cause is strong evidence. Unless evidence is offered that is able to put that observation into doubt then, yes I can conclude that something is true because there is no evidence that puts it in doubt.

On one hand you say everything must have a cause, on the other hand you say that god is uncaused because you claim that god doesn’t have a beginning nor end.

My argument is in regards to your claim that god is uncaused and has no beginning and no end. Where is the evidence for this claim?

If you had the chance to give up your free will and in so doing would never sin (do evil) again would you give it up?

Why or why not?

Curiously,
Mick
👍
What sins are you willing to commit that you would give up your free will to love God so that you would be able to say to yourself “I am not a sinner”? Everyone sins, it is in being human that we sin. Not because we choose to give up free will. We have free will afforded us in the hope that we will do right by others and ourselves. Only in doing this can we hope to be with God.

Mary1173…and no I would never give up on God’s plan for me.🙂
