Where are all the large Catholic families?

I think we’ve heard every plausible and some not-so-plausible reasons on “where are all the large Catholic families”. The OP posted this question a year ago and has since been banned After one year, 26 pages and nearly 400 replies, I think it’s time to put this thread to rest.

I volunteer my own family as a large Catholic family. I am a life long Catholic and my wife entered the Church before we were married. Eleven kids and eight are still at home. The oldest is 23 and the youngest is 5 months.

The large families are still out there but, as the past day on this thread might show, there is a lot of animosity towards having a large family. If you have not grown up or been around the dynamics of large family life, you will most likely shun or vilify the unknown and make excuses for its cause. The dynamic of helping each other make do with what God gives you while at the same time finding a vocation in life, in a society that wants to be more secular, is a huge challenge.

Funny thing is the “large family life” is the dynamic that the Church has slowly lost over the last 60 years.

This thread is almost a year old. Please follow forum rules and start a new thread. The OP has been banned since then for goodness sake, he’s not coming back to participate!

The idea of controlling the population of my people is an insult to my people and to my people’s culture!
So yes, this thread should be closed.
