Hahaha. The image itself is also appropriate for Mormonism: Its outward appearance is very pretty, but it is vastly empty and devoid of intelligent life. šŸ˜›
How do you know it is devoid of intelligent life? Have you been there?

Of course he has been there. It’s the star near Kolob. It’s on his mail route. Everybody there lives in single-wide mobiles with three junkers up on blocks in the front yard and major appliances on the front porch. All married to cousins and with more tattoos than teeth. mormons, why?

I am glad you are a Catholic. I would be embarrassed if you were a Mormon.

It’s exponents here are intellectually dishonest (and sometimes just plain liars) will adopt just about any tactic as a means to try and prostleyise to us
That is a pretty good description of apostates and anti-Mormons, thank you. Nicely put.
So, basically your argument comes down to ā€œI know you are but what am I?ā€ā€¦

I would be embarassed if I were a Mormon. Kolob is right out of the mouth of your founder. It is absurd. It is a Mormon embarassment and you don’t get it.

His being there would prove he was right

You mean that Star Trek is just a story, like the BOM? Man, my bubble is popped. But on the other hand, Star Trek is probably truer than mormonism, and surely not as far-fetched.

I certainly do not need to defend zerinus, he is more than capable of demolishing any lies found on this thread, but at a certain point it becomes so obvious that you are distorting all that is being said, I had to put in my two cents.

There are no conflicts in any of these positions. All he has said is that anti mormons are those who oppose Mormonism actively. He respects the Catholic church, as do I incidentally, which we both recognize as ā€œapostateā€ for many reasons, including the ones he cites.

The issue about mistaken prophets is no different from mistaken popes, women popes, the inquistion, crusades and priiest child abuse, schisms, heretics and burning at the stake. I don’t recall any Mormon inquisitions or even though I might be tempted, burning any anti-mormons at the stake. If you want to throw historical stones, as prodigalson1 would say, please notice that you are living in glass houses. Human beings make mistakes.

Many here are no better than this chick guy you so love.

The problem is that collectively, no one here can see the beam in your own eyes, so no honest discussion takes place.

As I have said before, every anti-mormon argument on this thread is a straw man.

Every one. If you don’t want to learn the truth, it is your perogative. If you want to learn the truth, LISTEN.

Ramadan started today. The crescent moon has appeared. Ever see any crescent moons in catholic iconography? Where did that come from? Go ahead and research that one.
Some people here are their own worst enemies. You don’t need to reply to them. Just let them be, and they will dig their own graves while you watch.

Both Ski and zerinus have done too much LDS. You know guys, once you lose those brain cells, they’re gone.

Doggone it zerinus, I was just about to post that about you and Ski. You were reading my apostate mind.šŸ˜›

of course the original battlestar galactica was written by a mormon and had many mormonisms in it like being led by a council of 12, the search for ā€œkobolā€, Adama, marriage for eternity, there was even one episode where they ran into the celestial kingdom people who told them ā€œas you are we once were, as we are you may becomeā€ā€¦good fun scifi…not true religion. and zerinus wins the quote of the day award where he neutralized himself:

of course he IS an experienced internet debater so maybe he’s right about everything…seeing as how he has a blog that answers everything and all…

I think that Mormons and Catholics (and their respective churches) get along just fine. It is only apostates and anti-Mormons (masquerading as Catholics) that like everyone to think otherwise.

zerinus
I disagree completely. By your definition, z, I am indeed an apostate and an anti-Mormon. Proudly so.

I am also proudly and humbly Catholic. I grew up in Utah County. I am an ex-Mormon. I have a right and an obligation to ā€œfightā€ against a ā€œreligionā€ that has done so much harm to my family for generations.

Thanks for the advice. And the comments after this post, as usual, have proved you right.

Ever see the old TV series Battlestar Galactica? Straight out of Mormonism. Their home planet was called… Kobol… a play on Kolob. ***

No offence was intended. To me praying to a supernatural being (which is what Mary is now, because she is not in this world any more) is an act of worship. Now if you genuinely believe that is not worship, fine, we agree to disagree.

zerinus
You just admitted that its an opinion of yours. Accepting that Catholics don’t pray to Mary doesn’t even undermine Mormonism so why did you attack Catholicism by writing that blog?

On this thread you have agreed that anti-Catholicism and anti-Mormonism are wrong however your blog uneccesarily attacked Catholicism. That seems to me like an anti-Catholic action.

False religions can only support themselves by attempting to break down real Christianity. If they have to lie to do it, then they will. False religions cannot offer anything resembling an actual defense of their own beliefs, so they figure if they can tear the rest of us down, then they are right by default.

Because that particular question had arisen in discussion on this board several times before, and I wrote that Blog post so that I would not need to repeat those arguments in discussion with other people again. That is, after all, that reason why I created that Blog in the first place.
