Some people here are their own worst enemies. You don’t need to reply to them. Just let them be, and they will dig their own graves while you watch.

We’ve been watching you work for a while. What kind of flowers would you like us to put on your grave? 😉

Well said! This thread is slowing down, debating mormons is kinda like shooting fish, they continue the same ol’ tired arguments and opinions that prove nothing but how gullible they are. I could say that I wish they would come up with something new, just to liven things up, but there’s no hope of that. watching Ski and zerinus trying to support one another is fun though, kinda like two drunks in a three-legged race.😛

Neil Armstrong already popped their bubble once, unless all the 6 foot people dressed like quakers hid when he was on the moon? 🤷

What did happen to those lunar Quakers anyway?

They must be a shy folk.

And don’t forget Brigham Young’s solar people.

Where is Kabob – oops, I mean Kolob – anyway? Is it in the milky way?

Man, that is inappropriate in the extreme. Sounds threatening to me. You guys are just showing yourselves for what you really are.

Lighten up, Francis. What we are showing is that we are people who are not impressed by the fraud that is mormonism or the specious arguments of those who practice and defend it. If you find that threatening, then you need to try to get a life.

Because that particular question had arisen in discussion on this board several times before, and I wrote that Blog post so that I would not need to repeat those arguments in discussion with other people again. That is, after all, that reason why I created that Blog in the first place.

So some people were speculating on the topic (which is completely unrelated to Mormonism) of whether Catholics worshiped Mary or not and you decided to take advantage of this to attack Catholicism? Sounds to me like you’re a hypocrite considering that you are against anti-Mormonism and anti-Catholicism yet you wrote an unneccesary anti-Catholic blog.

Yes, lighten up. The “flowers for the grave” was made because your fellow Mormon, Zerinus said,
Some people here are their own worst enemies. You don’t need to reply to them. Just let them be, and they will dig their own graves while you watch.

zerinus
It wasn’t a threat. It was just to show that Zerinus fit the description which he wrote.

Thanks for the advice. And the comments after this post, as usual, have proved you right.
zerinus starts a thread titled “where have all the apostates and anti-mormons gone” and then tells his fellow Mormons to sit back to watch the show.

Maybe I’ll start a thread titled “where have all the polytheistic, pagan, heretical, anti-Catholic Mormons gone?”, over at MADB, and sit back to watch the show.

I consider it a legitimate critique (or even counter-critique, if you want to think if it that way) of Catholic doctrine. Catholics make all kinds of (often unjustified) criticisms of LDS doctrine. I think I am perfectly justified in making a criticism of Catholic doctrine. That article I wrote is not the only one that criticizes Catholic doctrine. There are several more, such as the one on the Mass, transubstantiation, my response to the Catholic preacher Vic Scaravilli, and to a lesser extent in some of the other posts. If I really wanted to be mean to the Catholic Church, I could do a lot worse. But that is not my intention. The objective is above all to teach correct LDS doctrine; but also, when appropriate, to point to obvious flaws in the theologies of other churches who are so vocal in their criticisms of us. I think that is a perfectly legitimate thing for me to do. As I said, I had had this discussion with other Catholics on this board before; that is why I decided to post a message on it so that I could refer to it in future discussions.

And this does give me the logical advantage on this board since I can see good in both faiths and likewise I can see the bad.

I consider myself to be the Voice of Reason on this section of the forum. 🙂

I agree, in general. But on this board they exert a disproportionate influence because there are more of them than Mormons (or Catholics symathetic to Mormonism) posting here. Sombody visiting this board will think that all Catholics are anti-Mormons, which of course is not true in the outside world.

zerinus
You are right about that and that is unfortunate for this board because it does misrepresent catholics as being arrogant and stiff necked. The average catholic is basically good natured, understanding, and openminded about other faiths. At least that is my impression.

might want to go ahead and put your tinfoil hat back on so the aliens can’t steal your thoughts.

Or, you can been seen as an opportunist trying to straddle two incompatible belief systems.

I take offense to your “arrogant and stiff necked” characterizations. LDS are much more welcome here than non LDS or “apostates” on LDS forums.

May G*d bless you and keep you.

Of course, LDS have no emnity towards Catholics, and the “Great and Abominable Church” really isn’t the Roman Catholic Church (although you’d be hard pressed to find a one “church” who would be capable of responsible for killing the Apostles, the “Great Apostasy” (1 Ne. 13:5-60, instrumental in corrupting the Bible and removing from it “the most plain and precious parts of the gospel of the Lamb” (1 Ne. 13:34))

Transcipt of the 1984 version of the Temple Endowment Ceremony. See in what high regard Catholics are held? Not only is the RCC the “Great and Abominable Church”, but its “Popes and Priests” are agents of Satan. There are no transcripts of endowments prior to the 1931 version, but this was in the ceremony from at least then until 1984, 53 years of smearing Catholics in their little Masonic “borrowed” secre… I mean “sacred” ceremony.

I included a fair amount of the ceremony just to let others see what LDS theology consists of, putting the meat before the agitprop.

Enjoy!
(The scene changes, and it is understood that the Gods have again ascended. The following scene occurs in the garden, and no indication is given as to how much time has passed since the Gods’ departure. Lucifer, the devil, is shown standing nonchalantly observing Adam, and is clad in black and red robes; also wearing a square black apron tied to his waist. Though youthful, Lucifer appears perhaps a few years older than Adam, and wears a beard and mustache, His speech is fluid, persuasive, and without hesitation.)
LUCIFER: Well, Adam, you have a new world here.
ADAM: A new world?
LUCIFER: Yes, a new world, patterned after the old one where we used to live.
ADAM: I know nothing about any other world.
LUCIFER: Oh, I see, your eyes are not yet opened. You have forgotten everything. You must eat some of the fruit of this tree.
(Lucifer plucks two pieces of fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and presents it to Adam.)
LUCIFER: Adam, here is some of the fruit of that tree. It will make you wise.
ADAM: I will not partake of that fruit. Father told me that in the day I should partake of it I should surely die.
LUCIFER: You shall not surely die but shall be as the Gods, knowing good and evil.
ADAM: I will not partake of it.
LUCIFER: Oh you will not? Well, we shall see.
(Adam leaves, and Lucifer walks over to Eve, who is tending flowers.)
LUCIFER: Eve, here is some of the fruit of that tree. It will make you wise. It is delicious to the taste and very desirable.
EVE: Who are you?
LUCIFER: I am your brother.
EVE: You, my brother, and come here to persuade me to disobey Father?
LUCIFER: I have said nothing about Father. I want you to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, that your eyes may be opened, for that is the way Father gained his knowledge. You must eat of this fruit so as to comprehend that everything has its opposite: good and evil, virtue and vice, light and darkness, health and sickness, pleasure and pain; and thus your eyes will be opened and you will have knowledge.
EVE: Is there no other way?
LUCIFER: There is no other way.
EVE: Then I will partake.
(Eve takes the fruit from Lucifer, and bites it. Lucifer approves and places the other piece in her hand, which he closes around it and pats gently.)
LUCIFER:; There, now go and get Adam to partake.
(Eve approaches Adam, fruit in hand, and presents it to him with a persuasive tone of voice.)
EVE: Adam, here is some of the fruit of that tree. It is delicious to the taste and very desirable.
ADAM: Eve, do you know what fruit that is?
EVE: Yes, it is the fruit if the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
ADAM: I cannot partake of it. Do you not know that Father commanded us not to partake of the fruit of that tree?
EVE: Do you intend to obey all of Father’s commandments?
ADAM: Yes, all of them.
EVE: Do you not recollect that Father commanded us to multiply and replenish the earth? I have partaken of this fruit and by so doing shall be cast out, and you will be left a lone man in the garden of Eden.
ADAM: Eve, I see that this must be so. I will partake that man may be.
(Adam takes a bite, and Lucifer walks to their side with a look of approval.)
LUCIFER: That is right.
EVE: It is better for us to pass through sorrow that we may know the good from the evil.
EVE: I know thee now. Thou art Lucifer, he who was cast out of Father’s presence for rebellion.
LUCIFER: Yes, you are beginning to see already.
ADAM: What is that apron you have on?
LUCIFER: It is an emblem of my power and Priesthoods.
ADAM: Priesthoods?
LUCIFER: Yes, Priesthoods.
ADAM: I am looking for Father to come down to give us further instructions.
LUCIFER: Oh, you are looking for Father to come down, are you?
(The Gods’ voices are suddenly heard in the garden, reverberating through the air.)
ELOHIM: Jehovah, we promised Adam that we would visit him and give him further instructions. Come, let us go down.
JEHOVAH: We will go down, Elohim.
ADAM: I hear their voices, they are coming.
LUCIFER: See, you are naked. Take some fig leaves and make you aprons. Father will see your nakedness. Quick! Hide!
ADAM: Come, let us hide.
NARRATOR: Brethren and sisters, put on your aprons.
(emphasis mine)

Continued…

…continued…
(The film pauses temporarily while the patrons remove their fig-leave aprons from the bundles which have been resting on their laps. All patrons tie the aprons on around their waists. When the film resumes, the Gods have once again descended, represented as before.)
ELOHIM: Adam … Adam! … Adam!! Where art thou?
ADAM: I heard thy voice and hid myself, because I was naked.
ELOHIM: Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou partaken of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, of which we commanded thee not to partake?
ADAM: The woman thou gavest me, and commanded that she should remain with me, she gave me of the fruit of the tree, and I did eat.
ELOHIM: Eve, what is this that thou hast done?
EVE: The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
ELOHIM: Lucifer, what hast thou been doing here?
LUCIFER: I have been doing that which has been done in other worlds.
ELOHIM: What is that?
LUCIFER: I have been giving some of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil to them.
ELOHIM: Lucifer, because thou hast done this, thou shalt be cursed above all the beasts of the field. Upon thy belly thou shalt go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.
LUCIFER: If thou cursest me for doing the same thing which has been done in other worlds, I will take the spirits that follow me, and they shall possess the bodies thou createst for Adam and Eve!
ELOHIM: I will place enmity between thee and the seed of the woman. Thou mayest have power to bruise his heal, but he shall have power to crush thy head.
LUCIFER: Then with that enmity I will take the treasure of the earth, and with gold and silver I will buy up armies and navies, Popes and priests, and reign with blood and horror on the earth!

I’ve never figured out why Satan is wearing a magic apron with Masonic symbols.

No it doesn’t, it makes you unfaithful to both camps since the two faiths are mutually exclusive. There’s a big difference between being able to see good in two faiths and claiming to adhere to both of them at once.

Also “Voice of reason” on this forum? Oh man…if that’s the case, we’re all doomed!

You are the voice of schizophrenia on this forum. You cannot serve two masters, whyme. You cannot claim to be a member of the True Faith and also a member of a false cult founded by a crook and his henchmen, whose purpose is fraud and deception. By making these claims, you have absolutely NO credibility.

I am curious if you are a baptized member of the LDS church. I was raised Catholic myself. Have you been endowed?
