I There is definitely Catholic out rage just not from some American Catholics. Most Catholics are definitely outraged by this. There are American Catholics who do not see this is a humans rights issue and instead feel like the bishops should stick their nose out of “politics”. (Meanwhile, this is not a political issue but IS a human rights issue.) These American Catholics who lack empathy for the current situation are primarily conservative\Republicans.

Most Catholics are definitely outraged.

Outrage Does Not Equal Solution. Reckless outrage and regurgitating propaganda will not solve anything.

This is exactly right. I’d love to hear real solutions on exactly how to resolve this and get our immigration system under control.

Opening the door wide open, when any number of MS13 associates or other criminal types are in the group, that’s just too risky

This post is ridiculous. Most “conservatives” are outraged by this. Libertarians and neo-cons maybe not.

A lot of evangelical leaders are siding with the bishops on this.

What is ticking conservatives off is how congressional democrats were not bothered by this when Obama was doing it.

They are pretending it’s new because Trump is following the terrible law that Congress has given us.

The law must be changed… and only Congress can do that.

So far, it’s all Emotions Over Substance. “I’m outraged!” “I can’t believe this!” When faced with the task of finding a solution or digging to the root of the problem most people lose interest.

How do we prevent this from continually happening?

But didn’t a 9th Circuit Judge say that was illegal?

(I’m legitimately asking a question: I read that was so, but I don’t have a source)

Do you know the legalities of why this is being done? What the ins and outs are? What the parameters are in each incident?

You don’t even know for sure that these are actually real families (it’s been shown even in this thread that not all of them are - where there’s smoke, there’s fire).

You can’t make blanket statements and think that’s a valid solution.

Yeah, but people see an onion and accept it at face value. Few people wish to peel back the many layers and delve into the mess. :man_shrugging:t2:

We’re not obligated to participate in exercises of futility.
So your answer is give up… which equates to no hope… which is decidedly anti-Christian… sorry i’ll Stick with Christian virtue and the bishops

How did open immigration end for the Roman Empire?
The Roman Empire was the place to be in the 5th Century, groups like the Vandals certainly recognized this- that’s why they wanted to be there instead of their own rather crappy country.

And their ideas about vandalism meant the end to an advanced civilization.

Do you think that deturing them by purposefully causing emotional distress by separating children from their parents is the answer?

We need to hire hundreds of more judges so these people can be sent thru the justice system and them sent back to their home country. 2 or 3 days tops and them back home.
