tweetymom,Suppose you decided to attend rev. kevin’s Baptist church one Sunday and disagreed with him on some point of Christian belief. What would you do?
That’s funny.your colored highlights make your post almost impossible to read in a quote! first, I never said the Catholic church was not founded by Christ It most certainly was! after that you have a few straw men and a couple of baseless assertions. notice the Bible does not define what gates of hell prevailing means. I dont agree at all that it means one part of Christs church would fall into some errors. if that were the case then by the time the book of revelation was written the gates of hell had prevailed because a couple of the 7 churches were in pretty bad shape.
This is speaking to the Body of Christ - the CHURCH.quoting you is almost impossible! this verse is speaking to individual people in teaching them how to live. No one is claiming that Christians are invisible.
Tweetymom** most certainly IS an anti-Catholic, as she has exhibited many, many times. This isn’t simply an opinion with no factual support. All you need do is to do a search of her posts. They speak for themselves.**elvisman: twetty is a good lady with a mind of her own and she is not anti-Catholic as I see it. I noticed you did not respond to my post, could it be because it is true and that the Catholic faith is a breakaway from the Jewish faith.
Tweetymom has every right to disagree with something I might say. If she wants to discuss it she can. See nobody is perfect and may see things in a different way then others do, but that don’t necessarely mean they are wrong. What would you do if your priest or pastor said something you disagree with? There is one thing I notice here and that is you will pick on her for saying Amen rev about my post but nobody has disagreed or made any comment on my posts.tweetymom,
Well?
Well? What? We do not always agree on everything.I love my husband and I do not algree with everything he says.As long as the rev preached the word of God I would be fine. I am not into church hopping. I can worship God and praise Jesus whereever I am and do so.tweetymom,
Well?
Point out the truth and my opinion parts. A post not being addressed to you never stoped you from commenting before, why now? Tweetymom has spoken her mind on the subjects and I commend her for that unlike some who follow what they are told to follow.Tweetymom** most certainly IS an anti-Catholic, as she has exhibited many, many times. Secondly – I didn’t respond to your post because it wasn’t addressed to me.
Some** of it was true and some of it is your own opinion – as is the case with ****most **Protestants.
I am not anti anything. You choose to believe that because I do not agree with everything you think I should. I do not call you names, just that you are rude and brother you are. But that is between you and God, if you think He is happy with you being that way wrll God Bless. I do not have a problem with what you believe as long as you are happy. I say God Bless.Tweetymom** most certainly IS an anti-Catholic, as she has exhibited many, many times. This isn’t simply an opinion with no factual support. Well, rev., if Tweetymom has every right to disagree with something you might say, especially when it comes to the preaching of the Word of God, what kind of preacher would that make you?Tweetymom has every right to disagree with something I might say. As usual I would have my Bible.“As long as the rev preached the word of God I would be fine.” - tweetymom
To what degree of certainty would you have that rev. Kev is preaching the word of God? How would you determine that he is preaching God’s word?

I will comment on your post, especially #95. I thought you were spot on, with an excellent understanding of how the early church functioned. Impressive for anyone, whether Catholic, Baptist, or ???Tweetymom has every right to disagree with something I might say. If she wants to discuss it she can. So, if you interpret Scripture passages differently from rev. Kevin how would you decide who has the correct interpretation? As usual I would have my Bible.
Well, if you have your Bible, what would be the purpose of going to church to listen to someone else try and explain it to you?As usual I would have my Bible.
Taken to its logical conclusion this would mean that there would be a unity of belief in the local churches, as you say, to this day. Sadly, this is not true. The Church
The earliest ekklesia consisted of a free fellowship of Jewish believers who had in no way broken with Judaism, who continued in Jewish religious practices and worship. They believed that Jesus was the Messiah and had inaugurated the messianic era and they gathered together in homes and in the upper room for common meals and the celebration of the Lords Supper, for praise and worhip, and listening to the apostles’ teaching. The ekklesia was not what it is today; a orginized institution. It was a small open fellowship of Jews within Judaism. When Peter confessed faith in Jesus’ messiahship and was designated the rock on which the church was to be founded, it was not as a private individual but as a spokesman and representative of the 12 in his apostolic capacity.
Ekklesia can designate a meeting of Christians for worship, en ekklesia can be rendered simply “in church.” It can designate the believers who gather in a particular home as a house-church, it can designate the totally of believers liveing in once place. The local church is not part of the church but us the church in its local expression. This means that the whole power of Christ is available to every local congregation.
Thank you and I guess I am fiesty, especially about my belief in Jesus.I will comment on your post, especially #95. I thought you were spot on, with an excellent understanding of how the early church functioned. Impressive for anyone, whether Catholic, Baptist, or ???
I could also see Tweetymom as one of those fiesty women disciples in the letters of Paul who were leaders in the early church, not backing down to anyone, putting their lives at risk for the Gospel, taking a major role in the formation of local churches. And standing by Jesus at the crucifixion, while almost all the male disciples were scared and in hiding.
Amen Rev, and Amen Tweetymom
Yoi know what I think you like to argue just to argue. So, if you interpret Scripture passages differently from rev. Kevin how would you decide who has the correct interpretation?
