You state your catholic! What church did he have to reform? What church did he establish then?

Matthew
He established His Church and if He had to reform it so the gates did not prevail then He had to reform it is all I’m saying. I merely answered your question as to how others might believe they can have a relationship with God with the hope you could understand. 🤷

Why would christ have to reform the church he established? Thats all i’m saying.

are you saying that many churches, which is contrary to what Jesus did, instead of One Church is a reform by God? please tell me you did not say this.

please dont tell me that God is involved in such a think of creating confusion for His People.

if you believe that protestants are right in denying the Eucharist when the CC says it is the Body and Blood of our Lord, why are you going to a Church that teaches the wrong thing?

please dont tell me that God created all this confusion. i hope you dont think this.

I"m with you on that one Matt. Why would Jesus reform his own teaching? I am quite sure he got it right the first time. Jesus is perfect and so is his Church.

It’s all around you. It is one, holy and catholic. It is the communion of saints, the mystical union of believers, the community of faith.
.
When you say it is all around us, do you mean all the Christian communities, even those that do not believe in the “communion of saints” and the oneness of faith?

One faith, one baptism, one Lord! The Lord is not two tongued or 33,000+ tongued. He would not contradict Himself, for He teaches us that a “house divided, cannot stand.” Many of us refer to the same Lord, yet somehow what He says and teaches is different. Many of us use the same baptism, yet somehow we all have different ideas of what baptism really is. And we definitely do not all share the same faith. It is the great “scatterer” that speaks in different tongues and mimics the Lord to confuse us.

No such thing as a perfect Church…once one of us wretched sinners walk in it is ruined 👍

This thread is very long and I might have missed the answer to the question. If so, will someone repeat it for me?🙂

I could have saved everyone the energy of going thorugh 630 posts or so and just said

The Catholic Church 👍

Hey rev… I’m not hung up on this. Here in the panhandle there is a baptist preacher that has stated that catholics are going to hell! I also have a very close friend who swallows other vile things this man has to say about the catholic church. I will ask this question of you which i have asked her… How can one have a personal relationship with christ when you reject the church he established? Interpret the bible for yourself and make yourself your own authority.
I have big problem with those who bash the true church. To disagree is one thing but to spread lies to those who do not know better makes me angry!
My the holy spirit be with and guide you always…

Matthew
I’m not that Baptist preacher and disagree with his statement. I can’t do anything about your friend swallowing what he says but you can tell him that what he is saying is not that of Christ. We are to love one another not hate. As far as rejecting the church he established, I have not, the church is Christ not some church with a name. It’s the body of Christ that was established, the church is the body of Christ, he is the head of the body. It says if you believe in me, Christ, you shall have eternal life. It don’t say if you believe in the CC or anyother denomination you shall have eternal life. Where do you see that you have to be a Catholic inorder to have a personal relationship with Christ? As far as the authority part, I said I will not discuss that anymore. I’m not bashing the true church because the true church is Christ himself and I will never bash him. As far as interperating the Bible, I don’t leave it up to just some one religion to say that is what the Bible means, See back in their days it was fine because almost everyone could not read nor had a education and because of their lack of education they had no choice but to believe what they were told by the “founding fathers” because they could read and had a education. The reason they accpet it is because they don’t know any different.

Well, then – you didn’t read my post. I acknowledged that you may have gotten some bad information from other Catholics. My point is that they probably didn’t do it maliciously – it was probably just a mistake or bad catechesis. You don’t know for sure so instead of getting on me about their mistake why not ask them why they made the mistake or is it because you won’t correct a fellow Catholic.

What I’m saying to you is that if you’re going to attack the Catholic Church – DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
** ** First of all I’m not attaking the CC and as far the homework goes you say that alot here like you are the most educated person here.
You’re a very angry person who tends to “shoot from the hip” instead of researching the things you’re spouting off about.I’m angry! You are the one who calls people ignorante and use bold red letters and they to belittle them. And you have the gull to calll me angry. Try looking in the mirror

Calm down, take a deep breath, and open the Catechism if you want to find out what Christ’s pilgrim Church believes in. You may be surprised at how wrong you’ve been all these years.
If I don’t believe in some of the teachings of the CC do you really think the by opening the Cathechism will make a difference? It won’t change my mind.

Thanks rennie…👍 The bashing and lies that are spread about the catholic church in these parts turns my stomach!
Your post are very informative and many thanks…

How else were they to learn if if wasn’t by word of mouth? The bible wasn’t compiled till 382 A.D. Very few people could read at that time.

Matthew

Thats my point, they would have believed what they were told because they could not read it for themselves, and because of this they were not able to understand or comprehend so they had no choice but to believe what they were told it says and because of this the “founding fathers” may have taken advantage of them being illiterate and they knew they would believe anything they were told about what was written.

Baptists drove me to agnosticism…I have no respect for them.

Thank you Jesus for the truth of the Catholic Church.

Why do Christians believe in the Trinity? Who started that rumour? 😉

Thats very Christian like isn’t it. Is that what you were taught. Is that what Jesus said while hanging on the cross for you. At least I can say, even after all the bad things said about the Prostestants, Baptists and other denominations, that I have respect for the CC.

You’re required to respect the truth 😉

I’m not required to respect their man-made doctrines and lies.
