Where to buy candles for the Three Days of Darkness?

He came to save many who did not/don’t know Him. A complete Gift. Why would he make this time of inner examination “tricky”, so that even those who have chosen Him are punished through no fault of their own? An innocent walks outside on minute 1 of the three days and is zapped, gaining nothing from this time of grace. It just doesn’t ring true.
He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:45

I don’t find it at all hard to believe that those who have already chosen God will also suffer whatever comes on the world as a result of the direction we’re going.

As to whether innocents would die, they did during the Passover, too. A firstborn whose father failed to mark the doorpost with lambs blood was hardly at fault, yet those children died. Children certainly died in the Flood, too.

I don’t pretend to understand in anyway, only saying, it wouldn’t be the first time.

I did a search and read another page or two. I do remember hearing years ago about this. This list of those who have prophesied it certainly gives me pause.

I don’t mean this to be flippant. I’m afraid it will sound that way, but it’s a serious question: living in the north, where it can get to 40 and 60 below zero–colder than Mars, I’m told!–I was stopped, well, um…cold…by the comment that we would recognize this Three Days of Darkness by a bitter cold night. A good many of our nights here are bitter cold. If it can get to 40, 50, 60 below…just how bitter and how cold would it take for anyone in the north to notice there’s something a little beyond normal cold going on?

One more point. 😃 (this hit me at 3AM :D)

You have your blessed candles of perfect composition. They, and only they, will burn during the darkness.

The darkness arrives. You reach for the candles because you are prepared.

WHAT DO LIGHT THE CANDLES WITH???*

*matches apparently won’t work, and even if the flame produced no light, how would you know when you were near the wick?

Not really
What if…
What if there was no no door post to sprinkle blood of a lamb? Ex. 11
The point?
What if…
The point is that if you can’t light them, blessed candles would seem to be worthless. I suppose they could light themselves.

Again, I am no fan of an idea where an innocent 5 year old could stray outside and be struck dead. I guess we’ll all find out. Or not. 😉

Three Days of Darkness? Absolutely possible as a period of people being exposed to the true extent of their sinfulness.

The peripheral “magic” stuff just doesn’t ring true at all to me, though.

My theory on candle lighting under the 3 days of darkness: we will know that we should light them before it starts. There will be warnings, and people can choose to be ready for it or not. People will be lighting the candles before the darkness sets in (again, just my theory).

The scenario of the innocent kid being killed is an extrapolation. As far as I know, I have not heard the mystics say, “And a 5 year old boy will be struck dead.” I believe that there will be time to prepare, and there may be innocent people harmed in the event. Isn’t it likely that innocent kids were harmed in the flood? Isn’t it equally likely that innocent people were hurt in Sodom and Gomorrah?

I’ll say it again: would Our Lord chastise the world? Certainly a possibility. We deserve it these days.

Would He allow a way around it (ie, candles that work)? Maybe.

Would he allow an innocent 7 year old who just had her first Communion, was in a State of Grace and knew nothing about the prophecy to walk outside and be zapped dead?

Does that sound like Him to you?
But God would be taking that 7 year old straight to heaven, wouldn’t he? So in His eyes, that would be a wonderful thing!

I think a simple match should work to light your blessed beeswax candle. Those who generally scoff at prophecy may want to be cautious. God has sent prophets all along and will likely continue to do so. If you think chastisement upon those that reject Him “doesn’t sound like God” to you, you may want to read again in the Bible about Adam and Eve, Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah, the death of the firstborn in Egypt, and Revelation (particularly Revelation). I see no harm in preparing spiritually and practically for the coming of the Lord since we know neither the hour nor the day, and God tells us to be at the ready. If it means having a few sacramentals and candles around, I think that is an extraordinarily reasonable request of the faithful (i.e., compared with having to stare down lions in a Colosseum). Per Padre Pio, those who die innocently during the purported 3 days of darkness will be taken to Heaven, and some will be taken in advance to spare them (esp. children). Take the words of a Saint, or not, as you will. Should the prophecy prove true (per Blessed Marie Julie Jahenny and Saint Padre Pio), I doubt the unprepared will be ROTFL then. If we are spared, praise the Lord for his mercy.

Someone told me that Padre Pio never actually wrote the prophecy of The Three Days of Darkness, but it was a forgery. Does anyone know anything about this?

Also, is it possible that the prophecy was true, but is no longer true? That something stayed His Hand? (Maybe JPII the Great’s suffering after he was shot and all the years with Parkinson’s???).

The fact that I highly value your opinion, and that Padre Pio appears to endorse the idea, makes me consider changing my opinion, sir.
Why thank you very much. :o I value yours, too.

Honestly, I am very clueless about the Three Days of Darkness and am trying to read up on it. Is it true that it is not Vatican endorsed?

St. Faustina Jesus Divine Mercy

83 Write this: before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort:

All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day.

I believe so. To be clear, it doesn’t appear to be Vatican condemned, either.😉

It has been mentioned by some mystics.

Three days of Darkness. No light will work. Blessed candles only.

You step outside, you are dead.

Does that sound like God to you? A 3 year old opens the door and steps outside he’s fried. Animals OK, though.

With all due respect, I just don’t believe it.

NB: a three days of darkness without all the voodoo, I have no problem with. Three days with no light; each person sees the fullness of their own sinfulness; a permanent sign left.
That is believable. The idea of God allowing someone who is a good Catholic and who is innocent and knows nothing about all the bells and whistles to die because they didn’t cross the t’s (no pun intended) or dot the i’s is absolutely not believable.
The reason why it could be plausible could be found in the Old Testament. IF you believe that God doesn’t change. The same thing happened in Egypt. Those innocent first born male children were killed because the family did not put blood on the door way of the house. Kinda sounds like voodoo?

One reason why it could not be plausible (I’m sure there are others) is: how would you light it? All light will not be seen. Striking a match (which is not a beeswax candle). . you would never know if it was lit or not.

But the special candles are…special. 😉

How are people supposed to light these blessed candles if only their light will work?
You buy candles that are at least 51% beeswax (there should be a label on the candle that states how much beeswax is in the candle), you buy matches and you have a Roman Catholic priest bless the candles and the matches. Only blessed candles with light in the homes of God’s elect. Blessed candles in the homes of the wicked will not light. I am going to get beeswax candles since they burn slower than regular candles.
