Birth and citizenship is a matter of LOYALTY.

Obama’s actions have left us a little shaky on his loyalties. That’s why we’re all wondering if there’s something important about this citizenship issue.

We’re learning that the founding fathers again showed amazing wisdom in demanding that only born citizens be allowed to be in such a crucial leadership position as president.

I just read the whole thread and see multiple contradictions, claims that were disproved in earlier posts, but facts and logic was ignored and the disproved claims thrown out again. I’d love to see a systematic argument, maybe a thread for each point. What did the governor(s) actually see and say? Which YouTube videos are legitimate? The interview with the grandmother. The interview with Michelle Obama. (Now considered a hoax, according to someone. But, something similar, the networks are not releasing the audio of Obama when he didn’t know he was being recorded. Will it disappear and be a “hoax” sometime soon too.?) The whole adoption thing. His school records.

I understand what you are saying, about people being truly committed to a country in which they were not born.

Yet, for someone to trample the Constitution, it’s just plain wrong. Barack Obama did not receive a mandate from the American people to act as if the laws of the country, the Constitution, are no longer binding, or as if he is above the laws. That’s arrogance and contempt for the laws, and contempt for the Constitution.

Also look what he did with DOMA. President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder unilaterally decided not to enforce the Defense Of the Marriage Act anymore. That’s the same kind of arrogance, and contempt for the laws.

Barack Obama and his supporters should have taken the legal route, and ammended the Constitution to no longer require natural born citizenship. But, if he is not a natural born citizen, he has no right to act as if the Constitution is no longer binding on him.

Congress should have adressed the issue - does Barack Obama, who was a dual citizen of Kenya and the USA for at least 21 years (and possibly a citizen of Indonesia as well), pass the test for natural born citizenship? Congress investigated the case of John McCain. They should have done the same thing with Barack Obama.

Monte, do you mean Dreams From My Father? I don’t know when it was published. But I have read an in-depth analysis of the grammatical structures, vocabulary, metaphors used in Dreams From My Father, compared to Bill Ayers’ Fugitive Days. Jack Cashill, who did this analysis, makes a convincing case that both books were written by the same man - Bill Ayers.

I used the case of Barack Obama’s book, ghost-written by Bill Ayers, as another example of the lack of transparency, and as you say, mystery surrounding Barack Obama.

The U.S. Constitution was devised as a way TO GET AWAY from the one-man-rule form of governments and the elite claques that ran the other countries of the world.

To get away from importing ideas of centralized government that might be re-introduced by someone coming here from some other country. The reason for the head of the executive branch being a naturally born citizen. Members of other branches … the House and the Senate … and the Judicial [but are subject to Senate confirmation] … don’t have that requirement.]

To get away from centralized control and away from all the corruptions that had been witnessed in those other countries.

To create a decentralized form of government subject to numerous checks and balances … three parts of government: legislative with two houses (one of which had total control over all spending [the House of Representatives]), each independently selected; an executive, to handle specific day-to-day chores; and, the judicial, which is subject to control by the legislative.

Amending the Constitution is provided for in the Constitution. And, fortunately, it is a procedure with many steps.

Not something to be taken lightly …

The original Constitution was debated in public by means of the publication in the newspapers of “The Federalist Papers”.

Since then, many of the Amendments have been rushed through … without much discussion and debate.

The 18th Amendment was so poorly conceived that it had to be repealed by the 21st Amendment. Prohibition of intoxicating liquors] 1919 to 1933.

It might be a good idea to repeal the 17th Amendment … direct election of U.S. Senators … [and restore selection of U.S. Senators to the State legislatures] and also repeal the 16th Amendment … which gave us the income tax … [and change the way the Federal/central government gets its revenue stream]

That’s what I had in mind, too. You also need a broad consensus and a substantial majority to amend the Constitution. If Barack Obama’s supporters, who apparently think the requirement for natural born citizenship no longer matters, can make the case, and get the substantial majority of the country to agree and amend the Constitution, then they cleared the hurdle to nominating and electing someone who is not a natural born citizen. But they failed to do that. It’s not OK to act as if the Constitution no longer matters.

No, we believe that Barack Obama is a natural born citizen.

The only people I am aware of who think the requirement for natural born citizenship doesn’t matter were those Republicans who wanted to remove that requirement from the Constitution so that Arnold Schwarzenegger could run for President.

The only people I am aware of who wanted for Ahnold to run for president were his buds who rode their motorcycles with him on weekends … and that desire only lasted until his true colors showed that his power came from his wife.

But the state of Hawaii has always been different and today, they do not issue a long form, only what people are refering to as a short form.

But as already been shown in this thread and throughout the media, the state of Hawaii confirmed Obama’s birth and his certificate is authentic.

The ‘return of birth’ we send in to Vital Stats. here asks for the child’s name, sex, date of birth, date of Baptism, the officiant at the baptism (because until a year ago the churches were legally required to fill out and submit to V.S. a ‘Return of Birth’ for each child baptized) the parents’ names & surnames, ages, address and occupation. Race is not listed.

Other than the person’s name, sex, location of birth, and dates of birth, registrations and issuance, none of that information is included on the credit-card sized Birth Certificate that most people get. The long form, in this province, only adds the names of the parents, although from research I’ve done, in other provinces their place of birth is also included – VS in this province doesn’t ask for that information for birth registration although they do for marriage registration.
