President Obama released his long form birth certificate today. What’s the topic of this thread?
Oh, it’s “WHERE’S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE? The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President.”
I think what I posted about President Obama’s birth certificate is relevant for this thread. If not, please let me know. And please cite rules of this website that I violated in this thread.

We have the following facts.
  1. President Obama released his long form birth certificate today.
  2. The release of his birth certificate shows President Obama is a US citizen.
  3. President Obama is eligible to be president of the US.
  4. President Obama was elected to the presidency in 2008.
The “birther” controversy is closed.

Further speculation whether or not President Obama is an American or a legitimate President to the United States is now proven to be racist.

Denying President Obama is an American or a legitimate president is racist because the birther argument is who about President Obama** IS.** Not President Obama’s policies. Not about President Obama’s position on various political issues. But who President Obama IS – a baby born in Hawaii to an American woman and a man who is a citizen of Kenya.

The laws of the United States say President Obama is a citizen of the United States.

President Obama is a citizen. President Obama won the presidential election in 2008. President Obama is President of the United States.

To keep bringing up discredited arguments about President Obama’s heritage and to continue to say he is not American – in the face of all these facts – is racist.
I think you should avoid this thread .This thread was open before the BC was released. It took Obama two years to “find” his BC. I’m not a “birther”. It’s a legitimate debate. Even now that his BC has been released it is a natural tendency to question it to see if it’s even real. Most people have come to the conclusion that it is. You need to stop calling people here racist.

Makes me wonder.

If you even have racist cousins.

I’m not sure how geography has anything to do with whether President Obama is an American or a legitimate President. President Obama was born in Hawaii a US state in 1961.

Senator John McCain was born in Panama. I haven’t’ seen questions from 2008 to now questioning if Senator McCain is an American and is eligible to be President. I’m not seeing nationwide organized protest groups demanding Senator McCain prove he is a US citizen in 2011.

I’m seeing questions here about whether President Obama is American and eligible to be President.

President Obama’s long form birth certificate is public knowledge.

There’s no more doubt whether President Obama is a US citizen or a legitimate President.

Continued arguments that President Obama is not an American and therefore not eligible to be President – an argument no other President has dealt – are based on President Obama’s skin color and heritage.

Arguing a black man cannot be President of the US is racist.
What an arrogant assumption. Just because people question Obama’s fitness to be president on any level does not make them a racist. Yes, there are racists, but to assume that all who have an aversion to what he is doing to this country is racist is simply over the top. I think there are a lot of people, including me, who would like to see a black president be successful. It is time. But that does not mean that we have to accept his policies for our country.

I doubted Bill Clinton’s fitness to be POTUS. Does than make me racist?

Maybe it just means I don’t think people who approve of abortion and perform sexual acts in the Oval Office represent the best America has to offer?🤷

I agree. He should leave the thread for going off topic in response to an off-topic question repeatedly asked by the same poster (namely, “Who is Barack Obama?”). Makes complete sense when you consider that this thread is about the first ever public release of a “long form” birth certificate by a president of this nation…
I have repeatedly stated that the “birther” issue is a wrong-headed attempt to try to answer the question: Who is Barack Obama? People that absolutely love the guy can’t even answer that simple question and gets to the heart of the issue, should we be electing people if we have no idea what they really believe, what they are willing to fight for, if they really love America, or if they love a political ideology instead, where do his loyalties lie. None of these questions have been answered by anyone, all we get are accusation of conspiracy theories and accusations of racism.

And I believe, had Mr. McCain won the Presidency - He would have faced the same.

In addition to media scrutiny, Mr. McCain testified before a U.S. Senate committee and produced his long-form birth certificate for inspection.

You’re welcome to your opinion, but I have never heard the “long form birth certificate” produced by McCain denounced as a forgery by Democrats or anyone else. Do you know the name of the hospital where McCain was born or the history of that hospital? Were there raging discussions online about those matters? I think not and yet here we are…

But he did reform welfare and bombed the heck out of Bosnia. Doesn’t that make him qualified? I mean, it seems the preimminent qualification to be President nowadays is the willingness to send American troops to their deaths for vague reasons and dropping lots of expensive ordinance on people who we don’t like…for reasons that only politicians can explain.

I think that is, for all of his flaws as a “conservative” Presidential candidate, when the question of his eligibility was raised in Congress, he did not hesistate one minute to produce whatever evidence was required to prove that he was eligible before his collegues in the Senate. He didn’t hide behind an army of well-funded lawyers stalling and procrastinating.

You have just given the reasons for your doubts about Clinton, so no that is not racist. Don’t confuse the issues: demanding more proof of natural citizenship than any other president has had to give requires a basis for these demands other than who the president is.

America is attractive to millions of people who strive so hard to get here … because they LOVE the American attitude of American Exceptionalism …where you can escape the totalitarianism that exists in so many other countries of the world.

So, if someone loves the alleged advantages of strong central governments, they are free to immigrate to Zimbabwe which was once the breadbasket of Africa and now, having embraced socialism, is now the basketcase of Africa.
I think it is a stretch to blame socialism for Zimababwe’s woes, they embraced a basketcase leader, period. I do see your point though.

That’s because of his demeanor as opposed to Obama.

Obama comes across as arrogant as many of his gaffes prove. He has repeadetly snapped at reporters and questioners alike. He has a “don’t question me” mindset.

I always thought the BC issue silly because birthers AND Obama acted silly.😉

Do you mean prayer without acts?

When a President makes me part and party to something I know goes against God - Should I not speak-up?

When a President makes me part and party to something I know goes against the Constitution…?

When a President makes me part and party to something I know goes against stated platforms he promised…?

I dono 😦

I firmly believe, the President and Congress is to answer to the people.
None of which has a whit to do with the president’s long form birth certificate.

“Arrogant” now there’s a descriptive word he has in common with a lot of people I know…What is he supposed to do, simply let people walk all over him?

How many past presidents had to prove their eligibility to hold office? All of them I think.😉

No, we expected him to be transparent. You know, one of his most ardent and frequent promises during the campaign.

Of course not but he would be better served with a little humility.

Telling someone to buy an electric car when they can’t afford gas is arrogant and out of touch with his constituents.

What does transparency have to do with his birth certificate? Is the suggestion that we have NEVER before had a transparent government. As I said yesterday, the president answers to the people in a manner governed by democratic principles - he is not in any way bound to accede to their every demand for information - personal or otherwise. What if some groups had been formed which demanded he NOT produce his birth certificate? Which camp would he have been expected to bow to? Democratic principles exist for a reason, so no single interest group gets the right to dictate to the president.

Or telling people “You’re not going to be able to keep your thermostats set to 78” while the Oval Office was sweltering like a greenhouse because he “is used to the weather in Hawaii”…after living in Chicago most of his adult life.

The point is, what he says and what he does don’t match. What does that make him?

Right, and those same democratic principle will be at work to get him fired in a year and a half for being a hypocrite.

So you agree that release of his birth certificate is totally unrelated to transparent governance? What do you suppose it’s related to then? The old McCain comparison fails as his birth certificate was accepted as genuine when presented and besides, McCain doesn’t set behavior standards for Obama. If the people who demanded McCain’s had no authority to do so, then he was free to refuse or to accede. Nothing to do with demanding documentation of citizenship from a president.
