Ponder this and let us love one another to the fullest measure possible.
Amen. We are all sharing in the human experience.Ponder this and let us love one another to the fullest measure possible.
It matters not what the atheist has done for you. What matters is what you can do for the atheist. Pray for him.My atheist schoolmate kept me company, played wonderful piano, talked enthusiastic science to me. Many atheists have supported my recovery from alcohol!
Of course it matters. By their fruits you shall know them.Sure it matters!
The friend showed care, compassion, love, loyalty…just what Robert is talking about.
When we are desperate and suffering, a dear friend like that can save our lives on days like that.
Your friend sounds wonderful
.
Not really an atheist, I always believed in God, but mostly I thought this life was all there was and it was a very empty, lonely feeling. Were you an atheistic existentialist at one point??
.
Yes you are right - most atheists think they really know everything, but do they? They may be lonelier than they think. They surround themselves with “friends” who are really fairweather friends. It is much better to rely on God than on “friends”.Ah, okay. Because your comment about Atheists having a lonely life struck me as odd since most Atheists I know don’t feel at all as you described.
But since you were not really an Atheist, that makes more sense. You were talking more about your own personal experience.
Gotcha.
.
Reminds of the guy who insisted that Wagner’s music is actually better than it sounds. They may be lonelier than they think.
The world is very bizarre. A big bang occurred. stars and planets formed. The earth - suspended in a black void and spinning around a giant fireball - gives birth to life. Eventually humans come on the scene with emotions goals and desires.Ponder this and let us love one another to the fullest measure possible.
Perhaps, but what you said here is not making alot of sense.Life actually makes a lot of sense **of you’re **a Catholic.
Would you prefer not to have emotions, goals and desires? The world is very bizarre. A big bang occurred. stars and planets formed. The earth - suspended in a black void and spinning around a giant fireball - gives birth to life. Eventually humans come on the scene with emotions goals and desires.
Its freaky. And even more freakier than that, most humans go about their daily business as if this is all perfectly normal.
I personally do, we would eventually go to that state and it was the state of us before we were born, I don’t think any desire or pleasure in this world equals the pain, suffering is always more intense.Would you prefer not to have emotions, goals and desires?
A person goes about their “daily business” depending on their needs. For example, the daily business of a person living in Yemen or Syria would likely be the basic needs of survival and secuity while those of us lucky to be living in a western society would be more likely be involved in activities to satisfy our psychological and self-fulfulment needs. The world is very bizarre.
