Robert de Niro in Cape Fear (1991) was truly evil, as was Robert Mitchum in the original Cape Fear (1962). And who can forget Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs? A disturbing movie in the extreme. Thanks, DG!

I was wondering if someone would pick this. He was utterly lost in that role, by which I mean he really assumed that identity profoundly as an actor. Good pick. And indeed, pray for him. His career is not otherwise riddled with things to be proud of…

LOL Yes, a villainous truck indeed! I recently saw Duel again, having not seen it since it first aired on television. An ingenious idea and an exciting movie.

I remember that TV movie. It is the best version of the Lizzie Borden tale I ever saw, and Elizabeth Montgomery, whether considered a villain or not, did a great job of portraying the woman.

I really would like to see Mary Tyler Moore in “Ordinary People”. I do like character study films, and I would like to see why she is so cold.

I did read the book, but I think I was in 7th grade or so, so I don’t remember much, except about the mom being annoyed at the mess that her son made with his suicide attempt.

I recently saw an Italian film called “I am not scared”. There were many villains in the film, but the most villainous I think was the father.

her son died at 24 in an accidental shooting. he shot himself but they said it was not suicide. I don’t know if that happened before or after the film. if it was before, maybe that helped her prepare for the role.
