^ take note that for me, Mormonism & Catholism pretty much has the same levels of practical ills & benefits.
I agree with you on this.I think both Mormons and Muslims have a long way to go toward tolerance of other people. I like Muslims who have immigrated to the west, for probably the same reasons I like Mormons who have left Utah (as I have). They tend to see their fellow men and women as individuals, rather than outsiders to be converted, or bothered when they will not convert.
That’s just my take on it all.
Choosing God and Worshipping God, obeying his laws and commandments is better than all=—period to me.Which is better: Mormonism or Islam? And why?
I agree. The Morman people I know are peaceful, hard-working, well mannered citizens who don’t make any special demands of society, pay their own way, are respectful of others, the list goes on and on. In fact, I think we Catholics could learn a thing or two from Mormans! For me a religion is just as good as the kind of communities it produce. And obviously mormon communities are way better than muslim communities. Mormon communities are far more tolerant and progressive than muslim ones. I vote for the LDS.
On the negative sides I’d prefer polygamist camps over jihadist camps any day.
Well Jesus did say Love thy neighbor as yourself. I guess He meant to say unless thy neighbor is a Mormon.Actually, both are non-Christian faiths started by self-proclaimed prophets and I wouldn’t consider one to be better than the other. If you think Mormonism is Christian, you seriously need to learn some basics of the cosmology. In a broad sense, Islam could actually be seen as closer. By the way, that’s not a criticism of either faith or their followers. I have not known near as many Moslems as I have Mormons, but those that I have known (and do know) are nowhere near as arrogant and standoffish as the Mormons. Of course I know Mormons who are totally cool, accepting, and regular people, but that has been the exception. On the other hand, ALL of the Moslems I have known fall into that category and their overall deportment leaves me with a MUCH better impression. On a personal level, I have never had a negative experience with a Moslem; here or even when traveling in Moslem countries. I think they all get a bad rep based the activities of a small, albeit very visible, minority of (largely) politically motivated nut-jobs. Based on my personal experience, I’d much rather have a Muslim neighbor than a Mormon neighbor.

"“of course I know Mormons who are totally cool , acepting and regular people” So are you saying that Most Mormons are not acepting or are you saying they are not people ? How judgemental .Is that what we as Christians are called to do is judge others. I know little of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints. (LDS) I can however tell you that from my limited experince they are far less judgemental of other Christians We mock what we do not understand. I do not support The LDS religion I do however accept them not only as Fellow christians but also as human beingsActually, both are non-Christian faiths started by self-proclaimed prophets and I wouldn’t consider one to be better than the other. Its interesting you would say that.^ take note that for me, Mormonism & Catholism pretty much has the same levels of practical ills & benefits.
Yes, you are correct, Jesus taught that one should love his neighbor as himself; in fact that is essentially the core of his teachings. That’s the only point in your comment that makes any sense.Well Jesus did say Love thy neighbor as yourself. I guess He meant to say unless thy neighbor is a Mormon.
I’m sorry that your limited experience with Mormons doesn’t correlate well with my substantial and life-long experience with followers of that particular faith, but I guess that’s just the way it is. The OP asked a question, to which I responded from my personal experience; perhaps you should learn some manners and realize that there are people in this world who have had experiences that differ from yours and may therefore have some differing opinions. If you insist that you know everything, you will never be able to learn anything."“of course I know Mormons who are totally cool , acepting and regular people” So are you saying that Most Mormons are not acepting or are you saying they are not people ? I am sorry if you have taken my remarks wrong I may have taken others wrong as well and I am sorry. I am not LDS However I do have LDS neighbors that are very kind people. I apologist for any miss understanding.? Montana? He was writing from the context of his own experience. If you have not experienced LDS people who hate their non-LDS neighbors, then please refrain from judging.
Unless you are one of those LDS people who believe that LDS people do no wrong. In which case, please open your eyes, ears, soul, and mind.![]()
What makes Muslims so scary?^ take note that for me, Mormonism & Catholism pretty much has the same levels of practical ills & benefits.
At first I thought you were my Catholic neighbor, but then I noticed you lived in Montana.I am not LDS However I do have LDS neighbors that are very kind people. I apologist for any miss understanding.
Thank You and goodbye.
Most Catholics I know are just like Muslims, Mormons and Jews. Thanks for agreeing with me.That is because Catholics are content in what they believe. they don’t have to be in your face.![]()
Unlike those bloodthirty MuhammadeansI agree. They are a cohesive community that even has its own welfare system. They are fully engaged in the larger society, even while maintaining their own value system, which is strict and self-dicsiplined! The only thing I find lacking in them is their doctrines.
Islam, unfortunately, is steeped in anti-Western, anti-Jewish, anti-Christian thought, and has been since it’s invention. It was founded by a violent warlord who conquored by the sword. Islamic influx into Western lands has always been, and continues to be a threat to our way of life.Unlike those bloodthirty Muhammadeans![]()
No, they were not peaceful. See Mountain Meadows Massacre, the Danites and the Mormon Militia.Mormonism, although it is a totally quirky sect loosely originating out of the American Protestant explosion of denominations in the 1800s, is founded by peaceful refugees who settled in Utah, and by hard work and family values, prospered and grew. They have never been a violent group, and they had the good sense to abandon the questionable practise of polygamy. You don’t hear Mormans demanding that society adopt their religious practises,
Their evangelical efforts are peaceful, and they don’t threaten the lives of people who decide to leave their sect.
