I believe that the ‘rainbow display’ was indeed an attempt at ‘football spiking’ (as another poster astutely observed), however … I also remind myself that the rainbow has another, much older meaning:

The Wonder of the Rainbow & the Rainbow-Maker: catholicexchange.com/praising-rainbows-rainbow-maker

🙂
I like the gay one better, I don’t think I could sleep at night knowing there was an all powerful god who lost his temper, killed EVERYONE, and felt bad, so he promised not to do it again. Sounds like an abusive relationship IMO.

Quite astonishing actually.

The Irish were brainwashed into their vote, on the “equal rights”, “show we’re a compassionate people” nonsense - but this takes the biscuit, nothing like rubbing it in.

A ruling that will effect around 0.8% of the global population!

So much for democracy then.

I’m very very angry about all this. And shame on Disney, what’s next ? A lesbian princess movie?

I just saw that indeed.com , a job search engine, changed its logo color to rainbow…

It’s getting too expensive to go there anyway. 😉

This is not accurate theology.

Then the homosexual version is worse, where everyone doing anything is all equally part of the same spectrum, gay, straight, in-between, then why not add, animal, child or any other sexuality in the same rainbow. These latter will be the Obama legacy as well.

Because the United States of America is not merely made up of those conservatives in TX or anywhere else. There will always be people on either side of things who will be unhappy about this SCOTUS ruling or that one, and about what are any number of civil laws of the land. There’s no other way around it that I can see unless people want to secede everytime there is a ruling or law they don’t like and form their own nations.
The way around it would be to allow the states to regulate marriage like they have from the very beginning of the country. What SCOTUS did was historic, unique and passed by one vote. We have the equivalent of being able to amend the Constitution based on the decision of one person. That is not how America was supposed to be.

Then this celebration is the most offensive and classless move I have ever seen of any President. It is the equivalent of Bush hoisting the Rebel flag in celebration of overturning affirmative action.

Dallas was one of the first cities to marry gay people once ruling was made. The cities in Texas: Dallas/Houston/Austin, the places where all the big corporations, money, and intelligent people are, are very pro gay marriage.
:ehh:

Is this an attempt to equate a pro-homosexuality stance with intelligence?

That’s how I’m reading it.

So the Catholic Church is stupid?
No, the catholic church is full of intelligent people.

Big Corprorations in Texas also have very very intelignet people working for them and at the helm. The big corporations that drive the texas economy, are all in areas that are very gay-marriage friendly. These corporations have the money and the power to strongly influence local elections and they do so whenever possible. Its just a matter of attracting talent, a lot of talented educated people are gay, so the corporations want laws and politicians their employees can identify with.

I see.
The church has intelligent people, but the “very, very intelligent” people support homosexuality.

I can’t help myself but here’s it comes 7 Sorrows… that scary word again… From back in the day things do evolve. 😃
you mean democrats have evolved since their days as segregationists?

If the country is so inclusive, why can’t it include a state like Texas that doesn’t want this new thing shoved down out throats?
Texa also didn’t want brown vs the board shoved down its throat its not a great argument

In earlier years, there were different kinds of Democrats. The Southern Democrats, or “Dixiecrats,” were very conservative compared to the Northern Democrats, who were considerably more liberal. There was also a group of moderate or centrist Democrats. Today the Democratic Party is more homogeneous, with only minor differences between moderate-centrist Democrats (who are very few in number) and liberal-leftist Democrats. There are virtually no conservative Democrats left. A similar, mirror-image situation seems to exist within the Republican Party, which has hardly any liberal or moderate Republicans left and consists mainly of conservative-right wing Republicans. No wonder there is so little bipartisan legislation in recent times.

Thanks for posting this. You are much more patient than I. I thought everyone knew what turned the Democratic party upside down. I realize I was wrong. The Dixiecrats turned into the new Republicans after the Civil Rights Act and the Voters Act of 1964. I wonder why?
