sure, there are plenty of poor white people. we need justice for all, not just one group or another. programs should be aimed at education and jobs for everybody.

Unfortunately, a lot of people dont want an education. If programs could be implemented and actually work, that would be nice though… Maybe they could then advise the Mexican government on how to accomplish it, where extreme poverty is a real problem.

I’m not surprised by that statistic. The total black population of the United States according to the 2013 US Census Bureau is estimated at 14.1%…all others (except Asians) are usually classified as white. Most of the millionaires and billionaires are white also.

Considering blacks make up such a small percentage of the population it stands to reason there would not be as many wealthy.Oprah,probably one of the wealthiest blacks and a woman to boot,makes up a lot of ground.

Actually, the Supreme Court said it isn’t your money, and you have no legally binding contractual right to it. One reason progressives fight tooth and nail against privatization, even of a small percentage of it. They have no interest in you owning your own money.

I’ve been around a lot of white people and some of them get really defensive when race is brought up, deny that it’s true that black people are worse off than whites, then without conceding that it’s true say that it is caused by black people’s behavior and has nothing to do with discrimination, claim to not really be white anyway, then start ranting about big government, bring up Obama, mention the ACA, throw out the words communism and socialism, criticize the Bishops, then tell some nasty stories about black people they’ve met.

If we are talking about Black people (people of color), a distinction might be drawn between recently arrived African immigrants and African Americans who have lived in the U.S. for several generations. The two groups have not had the same experiences in this country involving slavery and discrimination.

There are many poor Africans who would love to come here, but they have almost no chance of getting here without a relative who is a citizen. The way to get here is to get accepted to a graduate program and once here they have an incentive to stay in school as a long as possible because if they leave school they are likely to have to go home. After an advanced degree it is easier to get a visa to stay here.

I am comparing the groups only with regard to what they have experienced in the U.S. African Americans who have already lived in the U.S. for many generations have more of a history of discrimination, or at least their parents or grandparents may, and some of them can trace their roots back to slavery, whereas recent African immigrants do not have the same history in this country.

That’s fine. I do the same. Just providing the information that, regardless of what they tell us (that it is our money in trust), or that we are really paying a kind of premium (it is nothing more than a tax that goes into the general fund), it is the government’s money (confiscated under false pretenses).

Did you know that when the 16th Amendment was being debated, its proponents said that it would only apply to those with an inflation adjusted income of over $100,000 in todays dollars and would be at most 2% total.

And now we see government at all levels eat away 52% of our income in direct taxes, fees and indirect taxes such as taxes paid by corporations that then pass them on to us.

Caesar needs to go find some other suckers.
