"white-washed" yoga, yay or nay?

There are almost as many types of yoga as there are people who do.them - bikram, hatha, iyengar, tantra and yes, kundalini being among them. The fact that SOME types are problematic doesn’t mean that all should be tarred with the same brush.
 
So if you position your body a certain way, you might be unintentionally asking a snake goddess you dont belive in to unite with you? I dont even do yoga, and i think it is a little extreme to think someone is trying to unite with a snake when they exercise without even knowing it.

I’ve got it mastered. I’m capable of doing it at any time of day and night. It’s not rare to see me doing it at 3 a.m. with Netflix. 🙂
 
I was trying to explain why some of the replies might seem dismissive or harsh.
 
Sometimes I feel like some older Catholics with lack of real life experience than what they read on the internet or hear from others act like the Puritans from old Salem, burning all the non-existent witches. We are Catholics not Puritans. Puritanism and Jansenism are both heresies.

Also @youngcatholicguy CAF isn’t a valid place to report demonic possession. Anyone can lie or exaggerate. I could be an 81 year old man pretending to respond as a 26 year old woman, or making up anecdotes that never happened, as creepy as that sounds. I meant like an actual exorcism for someone who went to “yoga for tots” at the local Y or something. There’s many legitimate documented exorcisms out there from legitimate websites

Interestingly, I find that it’s a lot of the younger Catholics on CAF who are like this. Not all of course, but a lot.
 
Full time catholic exorcist priest speaks about his experience of yoga leading to demonic oppression.

Like I said: using prayer gestures as ‘exercise gestures’ from a 5,000 year old Snake Goddess Kundalini religion isn’t going to result in spiritual benefits even if done for recreation.
 
And like others have said, the thread isn’t about kundalini yoga.

YCG - firstly, there is no point in posting individual anecdotes. Individual mileage varies. I could, for example, post dozens of stories of people who legitimately find a shoe shop to be an occasion of mortal sin because they have an extreme unhealthy fetish around shoes, or spend insane amounts of money they don’t have on shoes. To do so proves nothing at all about whether shoe shops are occasions of sin for people in general - they aren’t.

Secondly - if you’re going to condemn yoga then please at least make sure you know the basics of what you are talking about. Not all yoga has to do with kundalini by any means. The sequence of poses known as “Salute to the sun”, for example, does what it says on the label. If a person is worshipping or invoking any deity or being in doing “Salute to the sun”, it is the sun. Not the snake goddess.

Thirdly - if ouija boards and yoga poses open people up to the demonic CONTRARY to the intention of the person doing them, then there must be a heck of a lot of actors portraying priests who are really confecting the Eucharist, marrying people and absolving them of their sins, since they regularly go through the outward motions of these sacraments. Not to mention those times in seminary when instructors run through the outward motions of performing the sacraments purely for purposes of demonstrating them to their students.
 
I wouldn’t waste my time on yoga, I have better things to do.
